I wanted to know if I have best plan available due to the recent price increases.

I have been a customer for over 5 years (currently not under contract) and wanted to know if my monthly $84.96 bill was a good value.

As opposed to the America's Everything Pak for $ 97.98 (which I believe includes Showtime, Starz, HBO and Cinemax)

Thanks for any input!

This is my current Plan: 522 Dual Tuner

Classic Gold 250 w/locals - $ 62.99
Dish Network DVR Service Fee - $ 5.98
HBO - $ 15.99
__________
Total $ 84.96

I dropped the DHPP recently.

And although my receiver is always hooked up to a phone line I didn't receive the $5 credit!

If you want a dual tuner SD DVR, the Classic Gold 250 package with locals, and HBO, with no DHPP, then you have exactly the right plan.

If you want something else, then you've got it all wrong.

Thanks.

I wanted to make sure I wasn't paying more for less. $15.99 for HBO hurts!

I was considering upping my receiver to the DISH Player DuoDVR™625 so I could add an external Hard Drive to it.

I don't have a flat screen so I didn't think HD channels were really necessary.

you can not add a external hard drive to a 625 can with a 622 or 722

well that answers my question!

do you know if (and how much) DISH would charge for an upgrade to 622 or 722?

Is it worth the upgrade if I don't have a flat screen for HD?

Go to you Dish account on the web, look under offers, under Dish'in it up.

Dish charges I think $5 or $7 (recently changed) to have an HD box with no HD set (if that change is requested by you). Thus, not really worth it unless you get HD. But HD sets are getting cheaper all the time.

Isn't this ideal for a DVR ADVANTAGE setup? Particularly with HBO?

I'm thinking it could look like this:

DVR ADVANTAGE (Top 200): 57.99
2 PREMIUM ADDITIONS: TOP 250 AND HBO: 22.00
TOTAL: 79.99

See this graphic for 2009 DVR ADVANTAGE premium pricing.

Yes this is correct. The OP shouldn't be paying a DVR fee if he has Classic packs. But you forgot HD

So should I change my plan?

And what should I exactly change it TO, since I don't need HD?

Your Bill should look like this
Classic Gold 250 +locals $62.99
HBO is $12 with DVR atvantage 250 pack
$5 DVR fee, But Unless the rules have changed. The First DVR receiver on your account should be free.
So you should be paying, $74.99, But if E* now Charges a DVR fee even with DVR atvantage then $79.99.
Your paying to much!
