NPS price increase as of July 1st.

Just spoke with NPS on the phone. All channels will be going up 13.8% as of July 1st. They attribute it to they keep loosing subscribers. I told them you took away ala-carts, choice, masters and picture quality what do you expect. They said I can voice my comments by e-mailing there CEO. Looks like SRL will now have the lowest prices Time to switch over all my programming.

Spoke to SRL about pricing etc and asked them if they see an increase in subscriptions. They said there getting quite a bit of c banders that are coming back after being with the LSD. So while SRL is increasing there customer data base NPS is loosing. Kinda wonder why?

What makes me sad is I've been with NPS since 92 and there new hardball sales tactics in the last few years have really took away my faith in them. I think NPS may end up being the next YSP working for Charlie alone.

sad isn't it? and NPS just raised their prices after the start of the year because they added a couple channels.. I had #890 and it went up $3 I think per month. now they're raising them again?
yep, I'm sticking with SRL.. not the best customer service, but still better than nps and I've never had SRL try to sell me a pizza dish system

13.8%...Sheesh! I get the 10% uplink fee, Good PQ would be worth paying a bit more for and would not mind it except for the crappy PQ due to junky encoders and Jr Kindergarten engineering consultants.
I've already gotten my bill for the next quarter so if I pay before 7/1 I should be locked in for that amt......should be....better be......:rant:
I may call and see if I can get the pre-increase semi or annual amt if they want to keep me. If not, upon my next renewal I'll kick their collective arses to the curb just like I did Mon Capitán Ergen. They keep it up SRL will end up with all their biz, but then again since MM is not a C bander and pretty chummy with ol' CE, maybe he's got an ulterior motive.
It's a shame he doesnt just turn the 4D service reigns over to Stan and John. I think if they had decision level authority there would be a lot of things about NPS' service that would be for the better.

One of my NPS mini packs run out in July. Im going to renew it at the old price on June 30th vs going fully with SRL this time around because I just renewed an ala-cart with NPS last week for 3 months that needs 10 services to buy. When that comes up for renewal I will get a year then move my mini pack to SRL. Im also going to can all my G3 channels with NPS, they run out the end of July. Within 3 months I will probably no longer have any services with NPS except things waiting to run out. MM can get his gold from Charlie. Just wait till Charlie hangs him out to dry Charlie is a bigger P&%@k.

skyvision does not sell tru tv, cartoon network, TNT, or wpix, which are channelsi cant live without

skyvision's super pack is not to bad at 34.99/mo

but nps has 75 channels at 45.01 a month, thats 60 cents a channel

skyvision has 64 channels at 34.99 a month or 58 cents a channel

since nps has has 11 more channels for only 10.02 a month, nps is still the winner

looks like this is my last year on my 4dtv sub, it went up $50 this year from last and sucked it up, another increase will make me drop it and use a V-box to move my 3.1m and sell my dsr-922/hdd201

yea, but price isn't everything. I had NPS for years after I bought my house. Bailed on DN to move back to Cband and gave up on NPS after only a couple months. I canceled my pizza dish because I was tired of the games they played with me.. obvious the NPS learned to play those games now too. NPS has lost my business now for good. would I watch cartoon and tnt? sure, but I dont need them that badly to have to deal with their crap.
I'm hoping that as more people move to SRL, they'll have the financial incentive to add more channels. sheesh, even if they just open up more of the HITS channels, I'd be super happy with that. even with W5 HITS the picture is exceedingly better than DN

i emailed srl both the programming manager and the general programming inquires, with the message:
Hi Mr.Bell,

I currently have a 4DTV subscription through NPS. NPS has about 11 more channels in their Super Pack, then you do. For example, they carry cartoon network, wpix, tru tv, nicktoons and about 9 more channels you dont.

I would love to subscribe to you guys, but I was wanting to know when you can look into uplinking those channels, or possible retransmitting them?

Maybe some people are color blind because the last time I checked it's highlighted in bright red and sure hard to miss.

NPS pays to uplink those and they pass the savings....err charges on to you

If you want them so bad, get the $16 pack that carries those through NPS and the rest through SRL. Thats the advantage of 4DTV

Actually SRL offers channels on W5 that NPS don't. So between the two you can do quite well. Im just tired of NPS's games and lies. There not doing much to keep 4DTVers with them anymore.
