Stop Monkee-ing around you guys!!!!

Here we come, walkin'
Down the street.
We get the funniest looks from
Ev'ry one we meet.
Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
And people say we monkey around.
But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.

We go wherever we want to,
do what we like to do
We don't have time to get restless,
There's always something new.
Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
And people say we monkey around.
But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.

We're just tryin' to be friendly,
Come and watch us sing and play,
We're the young gneration,
And we've got something to say.

Any time, Or anywhere,
Just look over your shoulder
Guess who'll be standing there

Hey, hey, we're the Monkees
And people say we monkey around.
But we're too busy singing
To put anybody down.

Hey, hey, we're the Monkees,
You never know where we'll be found.
so you'd better get ready,
We may be comin' to your town.

Classic! I thought that they were great!

SpiffWilkie,

That's a slightly confusing one, since the original band members (so called) which originally aired on BBC changed a bit. I remember them from Saturday Night Live in the long ago as Nasty, Stig, Dirk and Barry. The Rutles. I think this group was contrived by the Monty Python guy, Eric Idle. He's the one that makes this group memorable as I was quite a fan of Monty Python back then.

Very tricky one! I had to look it up because the reference to Ron (Nasty) threw me.

That's what I get for relying on my memory and not Googling..I thought it was Stig Nasty.

I bought that one Rutles LP out of a "cutout" rack in a record store probably 25 years ago, still got it.

Yeah, Ron Nasty was referred to as Nasty. I've never actually seen any of the BBC or SNL shorts. I do have the movie, "All You Need Is Cash," though.

Let's try these three guys. Airforce brat kids who started their band in England but were all sons of US fathers...

Gerry, Dewey and Dan

Hint: It feels good to get out of the rain :)

I wonder if the "America" horse felt neglected because he didn't have a name....

John, Paul, George, and Ringo...nah too easy...

Dennis, James, Tommy, John, and Chuck (most popular lineup)
Here's a little hint...

"You were the apple of the public's eye
as you cut the ribbon at the local mall,
A mirage for both you and us
How can this be real..."
