So I added Setanta Sports last month at the discounted price of $8.99, and I get my bill today for the next month and the price is now $9.99.

Called up Dish, they said they have no idea why it has gone up, and that they have not received any updates on pricing. They said it shows 9.99 so that is the price now. I know for a fact it was 8.99 because I have it on my bill lol.

I did not receive any pricing update, so just wondering if others who subscribe had any pertinent info. Thanks in advance for the responses!

The discounted price was never $8.99, it was always $9.99.

I'm willing to bet that the "$8.99 on my bill" is actually smudged ink, and if you add everything up in that bill, you will see that it was actually $9.99.

Failing that, it was a glitch, so enjoy the accidental $1 feebie and buy some ... uh, what can you get for $1 nowadays ? A candy bar ?

PS To my knowledge, the only place you can get Setanta at $9.99 is Dish Network...

It's always been $9.99/month with international programming subscription and $14.99/month with American programming. Maybe the CSR you spoke to when you subscribed to Setanta gave you a $1 discount?

Haha cute. Sorry but I dont know how you can get a "smudge" on a bill when you are viewing the PDF file on a computer screen lol. Good one though.

Secondly, I do not really care about the extra dollar, but was confused as to why the pricing was different, at least on my bill. And yes, I also know that dish is the only provider that offers Setanta at a discounted price. Was just curious, thats all. 10 bucks or 9 bucks no difference to me as long as I get the beautiful game. Thanks though and sorry for the confusion.

I actually made the change online though the "add/remove programming" option. I was just curious. It is probably a prorated charge, although the change was made on the same day as the billing cycle start/end. Regardless, do not care about the extra dollar but was just wondering what had happened. Thanks for the input!

I'd consider subbing to Setanta for $10, but the current $15 for non-international subs is just a bit too much when there is already a bunch of matches on FSC and now ESPN2 / ESPN360. Setanta might actually make more $$$ if they dropped their price a bit.
