2009 MLB Playoffs

My LDS Predictions:

Phillies over Rockies in 3: Worst possible matchup for Rockies-a team that can hit the ball out of the park and with the Rockies hurting pitching wise equals a quick exit for the Rockies.

Cardinals over Dodgers in 4-MLB gave the Cardinals a gift in scheduling Game 2 in LA in the daytime, Dodger Stadium plays much different in the day than at night. Other than Wolf the Dodger starters are a coin toss but the Dodgers do have a better bullpen. Dodger offense especially Either and Manny need to produce.

Red Sox over Angels in 4- Whatever the reason are, the Angels just have problems playing the Red Sox and while the Angles have played very consistent all year seem more like a team built for the regular season and not post-season success.

Yankees over Twins in 5- So the Twins are tired, had to basically win every game in the last week to get here, they still have the biggest x-factor(The Metrodome), they also have players who have shown to be "clutch" while the Yankees key players(a-rod, Jeter, Posada) have struggled in the post-season.

Phillies over Rockies in 4 games.

Cardinals over Dodgers in 5 games.

Angels over Red Sox in 4 games. The Sox haven't been playing well lately.

Twins over Yankees in 5 games.

Don't know about that. I would not be surprised if the Roxs end up sweeping the Phils.

Interesting that everyone says that, considering that their starting pitching had the 2nd best ERA, and is the top in just about every category in the league. Their bullpen was #1 and their starting pitching was #2.

I agree, but I think, even though the Sox are a much more complete team, it is the Angels time to turn this around.

I think this is the one series out of all of them that will end earlier than later.

CH-CH-CHilly Chavez Ravine for Game 1

From the Weather Bureau:

You can expect mild weather if you plan to attend tonight’s play-off game in Los Angeles between the Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals. But it’s probably a good idea to take a light jacket or sweater. The temperature will be in the low 60s when the game starts at 6:37 p.m. But it will be 5-8 degrees cooler by 9 p.m., the National Weather Service says. Strong winds aren’t expected.

This is like being in the low 40's for you folks back East! :wave

I had the Rockies beating the Phillies on account of the Phillies awful bullpen. Nice idea. Cliff Lee threw a complete game. If they get 2 more performances like that the Phillies will move on. Still think the bullpen will cost them.

Chavez Ravine .. nice weather for some great baseball.. gotta love our 2 teams in Socal in the playoffs

This game is slow and dull. Yankee games seem to always take a long friggen time. If this game cuts into my Dodger game I am not going to be happy (Will they show the Dodger game on TNT until the conclusion of this game?).

Let's make this game drag on even longer by using a different pitcher for every single batter.

They better show the Dodger game on TNT. If I miss one second because of these stupid Yanks, I am going to be pissed.

How about the resumes of the four guys managing in SoCal this week:

9 World Series championships and 13 pennants!
