Greetings all! I have created a Fantasy Basketball League on ESPN. Those of you in our Fantasy Football League will appreciate the familiarity of the site. The NBA season is quickly approaching, so act fast! The start of the season is October 27th!

Intro:
This is a H2H: Each Category scoring based league. This is the most common type of head-to-head scoring in Fantasy Basketball. Under this system, you will compete in all the league's stat categories individually, earning a win, loss, or tie in each one for a combined final weekly score (i.e., 5-2-1). Our league will consist of 10 teams/owners in 2 divisions. Each team will compete for 20 weeks in the leagues regular season. Following the regular season is a playoff consisting of 4 teams competing for 4 weeks to decide the Champion.

Draft:
Live Internet Draft set for Sunday October 27th at 8pm EST.

Details:
Please PM me your email so I can send you an invite. This is a private league consisting of SatelliteGuys members only.

*EDIT: One minor correction. The draft will be Sunday October 25th at 8pm EST. (Sunday October 27th doesn't exist. The start of the NBA season in on Tuesday, October 27th).

One more notice fellas/ladies. I need to fill 8 more spots for this years fantasy basketball league. Is anyone else interested out there? Trust me, it will be fun....

Matt,

count me in!!!

Like Sky, I have never done basketball before, but it should be fun!!! :)

I'll send you a PM.

Thanks to all who've joined. So far we have 5 spots filled. There is still room for 5 more teams. Who else wants in? Sabres? Where are you? Don't be a woos. ;)

I will be interested to see how fantasy points are rated.

For instance, if a player scores between 10-20 points, how will it be scored?

Scoring System

Attention all owners.....

To clarify the scoring system, this is a head-to-head each league.

This is the most common type of head-to-head scoring system in Fantasy Basketball. Under this system, teams will compete in 8 of the league's stat categories individually, earning a win, loss, or tie in each one for a combined final weekly score (i.e., 5-2-1).

I like the "head to head" option over "roto style". I feel this style better represents the real-game feel where you will be directly competing against an opposing owners team each week.

For further clarification, the 8 stat categories in which teams will be based on are points, steals, rebounds, free-throw %, blocks, assists, 3 pointers made and field goal %.

If at any time you guys have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask. My job as commissioner is to make this an enjoyable league and for it to run as smoothly as possible.

*BTW, we still need 4 more spots filled to proceed with this league. With the draft date set for Sunday, we need to finalize the final 4 spots rather quickly. Anyone else want in? From my past experience with Fantasy Basketball, it's a wonderful way to pass the long winter. I actually enjoy Fantasy Basketball even more so than Fantasy Baseball.

Thanks to all who've registered. Should be a great season. I'm looking forward to it.

Still have 3 spots open. Need to fill them by Sunday. Who else wants in? PM me.

League Set! Draft Details....

Alright folks. The league has been set. We will begin the league with 8 owners. Just a reminder that tonight (Sunday Oct. 25th) at 8pm EST we will hold the live online draft. The draft order will be determined by random an hour before tonight's draft. Each team will get 90 seconds to select a player. If you can't make the draft, you can manually pre-rank your selections on the league website.

As a reminder, this Tuesday is the start of the NBA season. See you tonight at the draft. Good luck to all!
