No, it's not 'Salsadancer and me are actually husband and wife'. Saving that little revelation for when the time is just right.

Actually, there is a rumor in the City that if the Rangers lose tonight, the Edmonton Genius will be fired tomorrow. Probably just a rumor but I'm not taking any chances here, so...

Even when it would help to get the 1st pick in the NFL Draft ?

Oh wait, you've had plenty of top 5 picks already, what have you done with them ?

:D:D:D

:up:up:up:up :D

great comment, and by the way Thanks sandra for a light hearted thread, Things have been sticky in the sports forum lately ( I think everyone is on their period, both men and women :D)

Yes Jimbo, even if it means a higher draft pick. I'd rather win one extra game than have to commit large sums of money to a higher draft pick, which is usually a crapshoot anyways.

Ain't gonna happen. Real fans NEVER root against their team, no matter what. ;)

OK Mr. Soapbox...

It's late December 2000, John Cooper is preparing Ohio State for the January 1 Outback Bowl against South Carolina. Would have been nice if the Buckeyes made it to the Rose Bowl, but that didn't happen because Michigan came into Columbus and beat Ohio State 38-26 that year.

Actually, going to the Outback Bowl is a HUGE improvement, because Cooper's team is just one year removed from the 6-6 season in 1999, where Ohio State DID NOT go to a bowl at all. None. Nothing. Nada. The season ended after that year's loss in Ann Arbor. That was fun.

So it's late December, and Cooper's Buckeye teams have amassed a stellar 2-10-1 record against Michigan under his tenure, and Buckeye nation is not happy. Add to that Cooper's 3-7 record in bowl games (which would become 3-8 with a loss to South Carolina), and rumors start swirling that if Ohio State loses to South Carolina, Cooper is out. If they win they may save Cooper's job, and his reign continues.

So you are going to sit here now and tell us because you're the real fan you root for Ohio State in that situation, no matter what?

Loosing a single game does not cost a coach his job. It's the entire body of work.
