Does anyone know who manufactures the component and HDMI cables Dish Network issues? I'm assuming cheap chinese.

We order our HDMI cables from venders so we get the cheapest as possible to give away to the customer. As for Component cables we do not provide them.
A friend of mine got an install the other day and they only had component. No hdmi.

they gave us component for free, and said hdmi was $20 or $30 when they installed about 2 months ago. The hdmi wire looked cheap so we said no to it.
we had 2 612s and 2 211k's installed.
Yeah, its a digital signal so it does not matter what quality cable you get. BJs has hdmi cables for like $6 so we def were not going to pay for their cables.

I bought 1 off of ebay for $9.95 free shipping and looks good to me,i doubt there is that much of a difference with the monster brand.
Agreed, whoever offers Dish the best deal. Monoprice is, primarily, an OEM supplier, anyway, and would not be surprised if Dish has used them in the past or will in the future. One thing, for sure, it really has to be an OEM supplier as they are the only ones who have the economies to do this at a price Dish and others can swallow.

I remember going to audition some speakers at a higher end (but not Wilson or Mark Levinson high end) shop. The guy there irritated the heck out of me saying I should buy a $300 HDMI cable from him, as it would totally improve my picture. No, I never returned to that shop.

That's what sales lives off of is big $$ commission. Work for company that the sales people always piled on the BS about how great Monster was. they would just laugh when we would pick up the equipment of how much they made off that sucker. They don't believe the BS either.

The people that think a $100 HDMI is so much better than the $10 or less one are living in a world all of there own .

Was going to go and dig up the same information on Sound and Vision's website (they are a magazine extension of cnet). Digital signal either gets there or it doesn't. Would never pay more than $5 for an HDMI or TOSlink.
Speaker cables on the other hand....
