If we are still in our 24 months will we be able to cancel our contract without harm due to DISH changing prices?

No.

DishNet Residential Agreement:

You are not entitled to any refund because of a deletion, rearrangement or change of any programming, programming packages or other Services.

This same question is asked every time there is a price increase.

WOW, Dish is sure going to lose a LOT of subscribers. I look at seeing a LOT of hardware up for sale on ebay soon. A programming increase on top of the hardware fee increases on top of going to charge for no phone line connection fee? These are some pretty large increases coming down the pike. I think Directv just beat Dish on price and not have to deal with phone lines. Think of all those people that have cell service only or no landlines that has satellite and these dual tuner receivers!!!!!!!! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will drop Dish like a sack of potatoes.

It's personal

Bob: Charlie has decided that he just doesn't want you as a customer. He tired of all the B'n & moaning from you. So how long will it take for you to start a thread on how awful FIOS is? :D:haha:haha:haha

Problem is they are changing the term of the lease equipment fee's. Normally they chance the pricing of programing and fee's to use programing like HD service fee etc. I don't think they have a right to change the lease term of equipment without letting customers of their contract, Like I stated before I called the CA AG office about this and I recommend other do the same and contact their local AG offices. I have a felling what Dish is going is against the terms of lease agreement on the equipment.

Section 2D:
D. Fees. In addition to any amounts due for your Services and any other amounts due under this Agreement or any applicable Promotion Agreement, you agree to pay the fees listed below (Fees) if and when applicable. DISH Network may change these Fees, increase or decrease these Fees, or impose additional Fees at any time upon notice to you. Discounts on certain monthly fees may be available from time to time if you subscribe to certain programming packages and/or use certain Equipment. Additional fees may apply for non-standard installations or if you upgrade your Equipment after installation.

Note that the fees are never actually referred to as lease fees; they are referred to as receiver fees. And the same fees apply to owned and leased receivers.

So even if there are laws about changing lease fees part way through a lease contract, it looks like this may get around it.

OFFICIAL PRICE CHANGES - this was noted on my at&t|Dish bill:

Effective February 1, 2010
Please note the following programming and monthly rate changes for
AT&T | DISH Network Service:
...
TurboHD Bronze with locals renamed to DISH America and repriced to $29.99 (-$5);
TurboHD Silver with locals renamed DISH America Silver and repriced to $49.99 (-$5);
TurboHD Gold with locals renamed DISH America Gold and repriced to $49.99 (-$5).
Isn't there a typo in there -- that I denoted in red? Unless they are raising the price of the TurboHD Silver, then its new price should actually be $39.99 (including locals) correct?

Existing non-DVR package customers with more than one dual tuner receiver not connected to a phone line or broadband connection will pay $5/month for each dual tuner receiver after the first.
This one seems worded rather oddly and makes me question it's validity. Why raise the price for only non-DVR package customers with dual tuner units and not those with dual tuner DVRs?

Exactly my thought. I believe this summary came from AT&T, not Dish. Would not be surprised if it were a mistake on their part since it runs contrary to everything Scott has been told and still maintains, at least as of this AM. I can't believe this would be an AT&T charge only.

Possibly due to the fact that Duo DVRs will already have a $3 higher receiver charge above Duo non-DVRs.

I was out making money repairing laminators. Still no response from CEO office.

I guess they dont know what to say..........

Yeah our company has become a rip off, sorry we cant help you were more concerned with keeping our jobs......

Honestly If YOU worked for E right now would you be happy???

I WISH I HAD GONE TO CES!! I would of reamed out charlie...........

Yeah I have done stuff like this at conventions and other times too.

At least when things turn to crap they can wonder how I knew:angel:

most recently I reamed out the president of graphic laminating for some really stupid business decisions he and his new wife made, in connection with service centers for their ledco division........

I'm going to ask a really stupid question that I didn't see answred in my scan of these 40 pages. If they are now going to charge me for my locals, are they going to put up another dish to see my locals?

I have a dual 500 setup, one dish pointed at 110 and 119, the other at 61.5.

My locals are Baltimore and I thought they were at 105, though I could be wrong. It isn't something I ever worried about.

My mother-in-law is in the same boat w/o HD. One dish pointed at 110/119.

Thanks for putting up with my ignorance.

Baltimore HD locals are on 61.5.

Baltimore SD locals are probably on 110 or 119. They haven't used 105 for YEARS.

Maybe they are just trying to get rid of people with lots of DVR's to limit the recall after the TIVO case is settled ;)

Really Note my bill and I have 17 bills all showing the same thing which I also gave to CA AG office.

Monthly Charges
Jan 01 - Jan 31 Classic Gold 250 With DVR 67.99
3 Premium Package 31.00
3 MO Premium Discount -31.00
HD & Platinum 10.00
DHA Leased Receiver 7.00
DHA Leased Receiver 7.00
$ 86.99

Notice how on my bill they are called "DHA Leased Receiver 7.00" and I am sure if you check your bill they are also called the same thing, if you look at the contract you signed which I did, Dish refers to them as Leased Receiver. It is very possible that Dish changed the language for new customers or their web page because they knew they were doing this but that does not change the fact all my old bills state "DHA Leased Receiver 7.00" and the contract I signed refers to boxes as "Leased Receiver" too. Like I said I recommend everyone call their local AG office and complain because if it is established that the receivers are in fact leased then dish has no right to increase the lease fee from on the boxes while you are under contract. Once your contract expires then Dish is free to raise the prices but if they choose to raises the prices while you are under contract they have to give you option of canceling the contract with no ETF.
