It is good and was drawing quite a crowd at CES today.

However I am sure DirecTV could pick 8 things that their DVR does that Dish Networks DVR does not. (like side by side of the VOD stuff, MRV, etc...) it all depends on how you look at it. :)

DISH You Tube video is worthy of the national enquirer

Most of this video is a crock of ___t. Except for the PIP feature DIRECTV can match or beat most if not all of the features mentioned in the video.
DIRECTV chose to limit the number of remote buttons while DISH has more buttons but is more difficult to use in the dark.
Sunday Ticket, media share (DLNA),DIRECTV2PC, free VOD DISH has none of these !!
DIRECTV doesn't charge 5$ a month to not hook up a phone line or 5$ to downgrade a package !!
Let the flame wars begin (>:

lets stick to what the video DOES say though and not what it doesnt say. Guide being faster - TRUE. PIP - TRUE, best DVR or at least better reviewed than the HR23 - TRUE. Of course we can talk all day about what they didnt compare but what they DID compare was pretty on point in my view and I use both services.

LOL! That's exactly what I was thinking! Where do I sign up for over 100 HD channels for $24.99 a month! I'll take it!

BTW Dish does have free VOD. It's not great, but it does have it. I watched Caprica in HD that way.

See ya

although it was the edit version w/o the nudity....it was still free HD VOD

They give you a 5$ savings for doing so.
Direct charges per TV installed. 2 TV's = 10$
And Dish's dual tuner receivers work 2 TVs. 2TV's = 5$ w/connectivity

And DirecTV's has 2-90 minute live buffers where Dish's VIPs is only 2-60 minute live buffers.

Now my Dish 625 has 2-120 minute live buffers so somebody screwed up when Dish designed the VIPs.

Dish loses signal far easier than directv.. at least if your in rains alot florida.. the speed of the dvr is 100% true.. directv speed sucks.. however they dont require purchasing a new box to get new features.. directv2pc is freaking awsome!

I've have no issues using the remote in the dark. Snuggled up with the lady in the bed keeping warm watching TV with the remote under the covers by my side. I never look at it and can feel all the different buttons, as they are shaped differently, some are concave, some have little bumps on them, the remote was designed specifically for you to press every button without looking. It may have a lot of buttons, but it all depends on if you want to use them or not. I give them an A+ in the remote design on the ones I have with my 722.

I always thought it was the other way around since they are using KA on their HD, which is affected by rain much more than KU.

I agree with digiblur, the Dish remote is great. Has a button for everything I need and I know exactly where they are without looking.

It is. Digiblur, that was one of the cleverest and cutest postings I've seen in a while.
