D/N tells us that they are the lowest in all digital. What they don't tell you about the new fees and changes to existing fees.

1st change: There is no longer an option to have your service moved to another address for free anymore. In the past, if a customer signed out for dish's service plan they could move their service free once every 12 month, or if they were considered to be a valued customer. Now if a customer wants to move it is a charge of $95.00 or $15.00 with the service plan. Agents are told not to waive either fee unless a customer threatens to cancel.

2nd change: The warranty cost has gone up from $5.99 to $6.00. Which isn't much, but there there is still a change to the way it works. If a customer decided to add the service plan, then there would be a $25.00 cancellation fee, unless the customer already had it on their account before 02/01/2010.

3rd change: If a customer has an adult channels (such as Playboy, Juicy, etc)on a montly subscription and they decide to remove it or change to another adult channel then they are charged a $20.00 fee. The fee use to be $10.00 to remove.

4th change: If any package is downgraded, if a customer makes a payment over the phone with a customer service agent, or if a ppv is ordered through a customer service agent then a $5.00 fee is charged. The fee has been around for a while, but agent had the ability to waive in certain situations. Now agents are told that fee can not be waived anymore or they are subject to a written warning and/or termination unless a customer threatens to cancel.

This is a pay TV service, what do you expect. If you want something done you need to pay for it. If you want to watch certain programming you need to pay for it. It's going to be the same with any other provider unless you just stick with an antenna and ota service.

My agent waived the $5 fee when I downgraded from 200 to 120 just last week "for being such a good customer."

Still miles cheaper than cable and slightly cheaper than DirecTV for me, plus the DVR is the best for the money by several parsecs.

Some of the changes are WAY past due.....the ability to add the protection plan, get charged less than drop the plan the next day without penalty was just dumb business.....I have no idea how that went on as long as it did....now you can still do it but get charged for it...seems reasonable to me.

If you don't like it, cancel and go with someone else. It's just like anything else - move to someone who is more competitive or takes care of your needs better...but to just complain....all companies have the right to change their fees just like you can change your provider - and tell them WHY you are leaving - that is how you can get things to change....if enough leave for teh same reason a change will happen.

Where is this documented? I heard about all the other fee changes, but not this one. In fact, although I don't know where it is, it seems to me that when I subscribed I received a coupon to move for free. I don't even remember this being linked to DHPP, although I had DHPP for free for so many months so I suppose it's possible. But anyway, I've certainly received nothing revoking this offer of a free move.

Methinks me smells a "rat."

Two posts, both starting threads bashing Dish, no apparent returns to such threads. I wonder how good reception is, under that bridge?.......
