If anyone is subscribed to Gold HD but not getting Platinum HD and it's not an option on your Programming page at dish's website, do these few simple steps:

1. Sign into your online account and click on “Programming” link on the left side of the page.
2. Under HD Programming options uncheck all of your current HD package(s).
3. Click “Review and Order” at the bottom of the page. (Verify all HD Package(s) were removed)
4. Click on the red “Back” button at the bottom of the page. You should see the “HD & Platinum” option.
5. Click on HD & Platinum for $10.
6. Click on “Review and Order” button. (Verify combined “HD & Platinum” package was added.)
7. Click on “Order” button. You should see the Platinum HD channels on your screen in 5-15 minutes.

I just did it and it worked!!! I had Platinum HD within 2 minutes!:up:D

I have AEP and Plat. HD
Is it true the $10 Plat. HD package is no longer and people are getting it for free?

Am I being ripped off?

You've been on this site since 2008 and just figured that out?

Follow the OP's advice. Even if you got rid of platinum to save $10 after the removal of Voom, follow the OP's advice and get platinum again at no additional cost. The only exception to this I could see are people with certain no longer available packages now grandfathered.

Are you being charged for Platinum and Gold HD??? If so, then yes, you are being ripped off. You should get it fixed and have Dish credit you for "their error".

Wow.

GoldHD- $10
HD DuoDVR Receiver- $17 (I have two ViP622s. Is that $17 fee OK?)
PlatniumHD-$10
Service Plans (15/0)- $6
DVR Service- $6
AEP with locals- $99.99

Any other charges that are off or 'fraudulent' ?
Thanks for your help.

I don't really surf satelliteguys. I'm an avsforum guy.
(Not to be rude against the staff or members here. )
I've never heard of this on avsforum or satelliteguys. Maybe I live under a rock. :p

That is a concern of mine. I don't want Dishnetwork to add new HD additions and for me to be out of them. I would rather pay full price and always be rest-assured that I got the new HD channels.

As far as I can tell, everything else looks ok. The $17 fee is correct for a second dual tuner DVR.

Yes, more HD channels (some nice new channels too) for the exact same price of $10.00 a month for the GoldHD.

Kind of dirty to do it that way but its par for the course.

Currently, Platinum HD inlcudes:

361 MavTV
366 Universal HD
368 Crime & Investigation HD
371 Centric
373 Logo
374 Fashion TV HD
375 Shorts HD
378 IndiePlex HD
379 RetroPlex HD
380 EPIX HD
383 HDNet Movies
385 MGM HD
394 World Fishing Network HD

The Platinum add-on can be added to Bronze HD or Silver HD as well as Gold HD for the same price (of $10/month) if anyone is paying $10/month without the add-on. If you are paying $10/month for Platinum and $10/month for Bronze HD, Silver HD, or Gold HD ($20/month for both), then you should get it changed to $10/month for both.

Do it soon, Me thinks that they are going to start charging an additional $10 for the Platinum again soon. Just the rumblings I'm hearing anyway.

With the additions they have made to it in the past few months, this does seem likely. Hopefully those of us with HD & Platinum will be grandfathered in at the current rate.

You're not paying full price. You're paying full price plus extra. If the extra $120/yr doesn't bother you, that's fine.

I read AVSForums and SatelliteGuys. I used to be a paid member of both but cut back on things to pay for my wif...I mean our wedding.

Dish won't add new HD additions for you to be out of them if you have AEP+SportsPack+HD. (East Coast customers not on EA recently being the major exception!) You'll get everything unless they start adding HD packages to the Latino or International packs.

No worries, either way. It's your $$$. Do with it what you please.

What terrible reason to stop supporting. :D
