Dishchannelchart is back

It does not take into account that some channel numbers are mirrors of other channels (for example, 877 is just a mirror of 149), which was also information that was included in Dish Channel Chart.

I kind of have the mirrors worked out except for a few false positives like the PPV, Sports and Sirius channels: Dish Mirrors

I am detecting the mirrored channels by comparing the names, transponders and types. If anyone can think of a better way please let me know.

Also needs "city" for locals & hyperlink to spotbeam map.

Oops! I forgot
I will try to figure out the best way to link the Satellite/Transponder Map to the spotbeam maps.

If anyone notices anything else that needs to be changed please let me know.

Thanks QWERT!

For those who don't know QWERT is the brains behind THELIST the technology which powers the new DISHCHANNELCHART. :)

QWERT and DIGIBLUR have indeed worked magic! Their hard work is appreciated!

Cool... something like this in the DB

HBOE, HBO East,www.hbo.com

Once the database has the links we can make the channel names the links.

For the full name is it better to have an extra column or mouse over (example is in the image below)

Very cool look indeed! I'll build the routines to load the channel names and links in the next day or two. Should only take me an hour or so to build and run through my QA department (me). I'll let you know when I'm ready and have a test file on the server. Then we will move to production once we get the full DB.

If all the above stuff in this thread happens eventually, then The List will have all of the great info of the Dish Channel Chart (which was probably one of the most helpful "fan" pages on the Web).

Thanks for all the dedication of all the Guys who do these things !

Duplicate locals ...

The old chart gave preference to the City of the local over the channel #....5150, 5151, 5152, etc...Lexington, KY....then 5150, 5151, 5152....Jacksonville, FL....so the cities are grouped...that way one can glance at the chart and discover which local network channels are missing.

Thanks again Digi, etal.

Currently there is a round about way to do this. Click on the spotbeam and sort by transponders.

This could be done by sorting by city but the issue is with spread out DMAs. Like a DMA north of me includes a county of another state which is where their FOX station is located.

here is the list of national channels' EPG, Names and their web sites.

Please let me know what I may have missed.

That should work out great. I'll probably keep in an XLS format and just read it directly for ease of maintaining it. I'll throw in some wildcart code too so you can do like TEST* TMP*, etc.
