As I know of no way to determine the resolution of the signal, I can't imagine how they are giving numbers. I do have outdated numbers that showed that DIRECTV was participating in resolution reduction but they are exactly that -- oudated numbers.

If find it funny that how many people whom don't have DirecTV, consume themselves with arguments over DirecTV.

Yeah I like premiums but they have too many repeats. It'd be nice to get basic channels that have original content on a regular basis; hopefully that's next.

Word on the street is that although the Choice Ultimate package has the standard def TMC channels, TMC HD wont be included. You'll have to buy Premier or the TMC package to get it.

Which I think is pretty lame. I know they crafted the CU package to combat a Dish package that includes some low end premiums like encore and the movie channel, but to offer an HD version and only give you the SD version? Are they really anticipating a lot of sell-up based on someone with CU just not being able to stand not having TMC in HD and paying up to get that?

D* should catch up no problem, if E* keeps up it business practices of dropping HD channels

Wow 21 HD channels have been dropped since I've had E* service.

My relative has D*, and I just tried refreshing her HD receiver. TMC Xtra HD and Encore HD have a 721 Channel Not Purchased message. Lame..... If this is true about Encore HD, then is there a way to go to Encore without getting the HD one and the 721 message? E* is opposite with Encore. With AT 250 and HD, we get the HD channel but not the SD channel. I think it is silly to be honest.
