Maybe Dish want to make that $10 anyway...so maybe they are planning to offer a Platinum package to subs....& if there is HD box...they get the HD signal...otherwise they get the SD signal...& in both cases...Dish gets that $10...instead of only from HD subs in the current situation.

The add on the EA market does not make sense at all. If you are on EA, you have all MPEG4 HD boxes. I can understand the WA add since you might have an HD box and an old 301 that does not get the channel.

The only explanation will be same as there r MPEG 4 SD channels on EA also.....with their respective MPEG 4 HD channels.

This is only for people in EA that subs to SD only package. Dish dont want them to get HD channels for the same price as SD channels. But as u pointed...for this it make no sense...unless they plan to price it differently then the existing Platinum HD package

I don't get why they are slowly changing the MPEG2SD 8PSK types over to MPEG2SD when they are still on 8PSK modulated beams. The only thing I can think of so people with non-8PSK receivers will see the channel in the guide but get an error and call in to Dish about the problem.

Nor Macon, GA.... ARGHHH!

Though the local installers did get an email from the home office that said they'd be lighting up Macon, GA, locals in HD on 6/30... and I know that's not worth the electrons excited to send the message...

Oddly, they put 'em on E*8. The local installers have had the strictest instructions that they are NOT to install EA dishes, so I had to fight hard to get one.

It was DURING the install that the "supervisor" dropped by and said he'd gotten the email... he and the installer decided it meant job security, since they'll have to change out every 1000.2 in the market when customers call to get HD turned on.

anyone else get this? i have all of my favorites empty. whenever we get new or moved channels, they show up in favorites list 1,2,3,and 4(i.e. lists 1,2,3,4 are now showing 253 SOAP and 258 CHURCH ) i have two, 622's, only one does it. happening for over a year now, anyone else have this?

I agree. Wasn't EPIX SD in another uplink not too long ago? Is this maybe for the subs who currently cannot see the HD feeds? I am not really sure. Maybe they will move them to another package....Who knows......LOL
