We will be getting a small qty of PVR800 in 2-4 weeks that will cover our backorder and any new orders until then. Currently we are out of stock.

A newer HD model may follow (i.e. PVR900) with the same features as the PVR800 except:

  • No CI/CA
  • No Scart connection (useless for USA)
  • No ethernet connection (not needed for our target customers)
  • Newer IR remote control
  • Lower price
Estimated Introduction time: September 2010 (subject to change)

:)

I'm glad I waited.

Glad I got mine when I did. Since the majority of the bugs have been fixed it's been my main receiver. Hopefully the replacement model will be even better....Blind

I just noticed that on the latest firmware the "ZOOM" button no longer functions to magnify the picture. It now acts like the "SAT" button on most other receivers to allow you to select the satellite using /\, \/, PG+, and PG- keys. This is quicker than the old way of going through all the intermediate satellites before getting to the one that you want.

...And now I see that the new remotes have a "SAT LIST" button. Guess that's why the change was made.

Wow, thanks for the find! The lack of ability to go directly to a satellite has been a longtime complaint of everyone with a motor.

I just got one of the new remotes Friday. The Sat List is a really needed feature.
I had done the mod on the old remote, but the new one still works much better.
Do not have to aim directly head on anymore.

I was doing a lot of editing of channels this weekend and realized how annoying it can be. As most of you have noticed everytime you edit channel names and you blindscan you loose the channel names you already changed. Gets a lot old with all the CH-1's and other weird names stored in the Sathawk. I'm used to the Fortec where it didn't overwrite everything. Even with the channel editor it doesn't really help much. Everytime you blindscan you're back to where you began.I doubt this annoying quirk will ever be fixed. Unless someone has figured a way around it? Blind

Yuk! :( I have just started to organize my listing and changing the names and now you have to tell me this.I like to blindscan when looking for new feeds!Unless there is some kind of solution then ill need to blindscan less.

My solution for the naming problem was to move the permanent channels with no proper name to the top of the list so that I remember not to delete them when clearing out old feeds.

I only have Ku-band. Other than 125W, most satellites only have one or two unnamed permanent channels (and one of them -- ONN -- is gone now) so it's no big deal to remember what's what, i.e. 72W has the two religious channels, 79W has KTEL, and that's about all that comes to mind right now.

Where are you seeing free shipping? I'm seeing direct from China with $48 shipping!

Does anyone know how to make this box not to move the diseqc motor when browsing at the different satellites?

For example, when browsing the channel list, the motor moves to each satellite that the cursor passes on. I want the motor to move only when i select the channel not when i am just browsing on it. Any ideas?

I was controlling the dish just by the v box but today i started going threw the receiver. It might be a bit of a pain but what i did is turn off the motor on all satellites and when i cruise threw the favorites list or satellite channel list and find something i want to see i exit out to the antenna setup and turn on the motor then shut back off when finished.I do this if its early in the mourning or late night so i dont drive neighbors nuts with the constant actuator moving the dish around.

Using the editor, on the channels that you don't want a scan to change, change the Service ID to "0". The scan will then not see those channels as part of the stream and will not overwrite them with new data.

What you are doing, in this case, is making a manual channel, but instead of you having to fill in all the parameters, you let a scan do it and just edit the name and Service ID.

The only problem then would be if the channel has EPG data or is a subscription channel and you have a card that needs the Service ID in order to know what channel to descramble. But since this doesn't usually apply to most of what we watch FTA, it's shouldn't be a problem.

Of course, a rescan will add that channel to the end of the list, so you can either delete it or if the pids have changed, you can edit it and delete the old channel.
