The pole my dish is on is not level, and I need a new pole because the current one is too small for the mount. I would need a new pole, and cement, there is at least $100.

I also need a dual feed, and a new postioner, there is about $60. Also I need another LNB.

When I added it all up, It would take over $200 to get my c band dish fully operational. I live at my parents house, until I finish college in 2 years. I can't see sinking $200 in a dish when I'm just going to abandon it when I leave.

So I am going to scrap the dish that is on the pole. Yank the pole out and scrap it too. Aluminum is high right now.

In its place I will get a 1 to 1.2 meter Ku dish with a motor.

I am not leaving c band forever, when I get my own place in Virginia, I will either scrounge around for another dish, or buy a new one.

It's been fun with c band, But I don't think I will miss too much going to Ku. I know nbc has master feeds there.

Don't do it, you might not like what you find

Are you sure? I mean, you'll pay 200 for a ku setup anyways, right. And, all the work for the C Band dish that it needs, it will cost the same. Have you looked at the difference between the C and KU channel lists? You will be missing alot, and the HD, what about the HD?

Just hope you ask me to scrap the dish if you do, I'll pay 2 times what the aluminum guy will pay...

I think anyone who uses that name should be automatically banned for 3 days....just my opinion ;)

coin....that name was a kid who was like 16 and he had a real nice C-Band setup at his parents house then showed pictures of a destroyed dish. Lets see what else I can remember (not that I try)
-he ran like a 400 foot cable from the dish to his room that was reminiscent of a "Family Circus" Billy cartoon....you know where he runs all through the neighborhood and they show the path
-he burned some Directv equipment saying "The FTA gods told me too"
-lets see...he stole dirt from his neighbor

I forget some of the other stupid sh*t he did...basically a kid crying for attention on the board. Then after he got banned he would try and come back as a different name...only to get banned agian

If the dish is still in good shape, take it apart and store it.

Sounds like you are just too lazy to make what you already have work.

As long as you have a dish that isn't a total disaster (I have hail dents and still works), a working servo, a working LNB and feedhorn and a receiver you can enjoy a fixed c-band system. Then add a working actuator to be able to have the full sky.

I would just leave the pole unlevel and peak the dish on W5 (pole don't need to be level if you're not going to be moving the dish) and subscribe to the super pak from SRL.

:eek::bow:D:D

I think I will store the dish if I can make room for it. I do not watch much tv in the summer anyway, just the NBCHD feed would keep me happy. I have a 75cm channel master dish, just would have to slap a motor on it, I have a good lnb for it.

something sounds familiar here! that you timmy?

Was he the one that hung out in a chicken coop, smoked too many solder joints,

go on rampages and choke his chicken??? :shh

EDIT: Oops! Forgot the "s" on chicken!

And now we this reminder of what happened to his "horse" BUD? :dead

I also need a dual feed, and a new postioner, there is about $60. Also I need another LNB.

I brought home several damaged BUDs just for parts!

Some had good actuators and all had lnbs (A few C/Ku too!) plus

now I have extra panels. Why do you need a dual feed???

There are still quite a few good BUDs not being used in my area and they

are usually free for the taking but you have to beat the scrappers!

Check out your area! :)
