Since my phone call to cancel, I have received numerous emails and mail solicitations trying to lure me back. Dish must be getting alot of calls like mine because the CSR seemed well versed in the NY sports situation.

Just the opposite for me. The first CSR was clueless. The best offer I received was $5 off for one month or a month of Showtime then she bounced me to customer retention. The CR CSR was a bit more knowledgeable but firm in not offering up any more. Her parting statement was "I wish I could help you more.". I responded "me too".
While its not the end of the world that I dont receive these networks, the part that pi$$es me off is that I'm still paying for them.

I agree with you 100%. Especially if in NY, I think Dish needs to give some type of reasonable compensation for not having three RSN's. I said it before, they have the right to object to high costs, but they have to have some cost themselves for not carrying channels that previously were. I can understand one channel here and there. But not three RSN's.

Are you saying that DirecTV and SNY don't have a signed deal? I haven't heard of any dispute or negotiations going on between DirecTV and SNY, until your post. Are you sure that DirecTV and SNY are talking now? Were you confused about the YES - DirecTV talks that recently ended in an agreement? If your comments are true it means that any of us who leave for DirecTV to get SNY might leave for nothing and should hold off. Can you or anyone else confirm or deny this comment about DirecTV and SNY being in talks?
Completely my mistake.. I should have said YES, and I was unaware they came to an agreement. My apologies for the misinformation.
I don't know where you live in WNY, because I was under the impression if you could see Dish LOS, you could also see Directv LOS. But anyways you no alternative but to find the nearest bar that has game....drink up....and scream GO SABRES!!!!
Islandguy...I have No LOS to the WA or D* 103W (the SAT where MSG HD is) because of trees. I've got great LOS to the EA. I'm a former D* subscriber but only had LOS to 99W and 101W (mostly SD only, no locals). When E* put up the EA I jumped immediately because I could get everything including locals in HD (I'm deep in a valley in Catt County with no FTA signal). I could "move", subscribe to NHLCI but I'd end up losing locals (a deal breaker for my wife).
I'm cool...we are season ticket holders and go to all games possible. For the important away games I always have the bar option or listen to Rick on the radio. Not great, but not the end of the world either. THANKS....Flyers SUCK.

Why allow Direct to carry while negotiating, but Dish cannot carry? This tells me more about Dish than SNY
Your getting the situation confused. They did carry it while negotiating. When the contract ran out SNY pulled the plug. No contract, no feed. I don't know how far apart they were.
Because Direct is close to a deal and has every intention of getting a deal done, while Dish could care less if they get SNY back.
Exactly. Even the twinkies are doing better then them. One thing that can be said is they aren't the worst in baseball right now that title goes the red socks. But they still have some time.The way the Mets are playing, not having SNY might be a blessing in disguise.
D*'s issue was with YES network. I believe that they are alright with SNY for a little while yet. Yes and D* did go past the contract date, but Yes remained on the air. I suspect that is because they were really negotiating, and Yes knew a deal would get done. Dish on the other hand plays hardball with the RSN's, It must be pretty much a take it or leave it price they are willing to pay. This is why when the contract is up, SNY can see they are dealing with a company not willing to negotiate, so they just pull the channel. I doubt we will see SNY again on Dish.
Well put, and depending on how you feel for better or worse that is probably the scenario. I thought SNY needed the cash more than Dish and would come to some agreement, appears I was wrong. But SNY has the problem of having only one team,the METS, who seem to be a franchise in trouble, with a poor on field team. Dish, of the three (YES, MSG) probably lost the least amount of sleep over not carrying them. It wasn't till just a few months ago that Charter even carried them, and then only because SNY now has the Uconn games.

Tells me Dish is not willing to pay the ransom demands. I would be curious who loses more, Dish with the churn it creates or SNY who now gets $0 from DISH? I would have to agree the Mets are not a good watch right now. Had a hard time just listening to it on the radio yesterday. With Santana and Bay out injured, Beltran on half a wheel and a poor bullpen, adds up to a lot of misery for Mets fans.
