Alright so we finally got our Dish upgraded today to HD. 1 722k receiver, and 2 211's.
First question is does the 722k support 1080p? My TV says its 1080i when the 722k is connected, and I notice some banding/interlace lines on some channels. This is over HDMI. When I go into the HDTV setup screen on the 722k it only goes up as high as 1080i.
We have an LG 55" HDTV, with an Onkyo HT-s894 AVR and the 722k. For some reason I cannot get audio over HDMI, just video. So for now, the 722k has its HDMI connected straight to the TV's HDMI1 input. Optical out from the 722k into one of the Optical ins on my AVR. This way I get video over HDMI, audio over optical, and I get surround on channels that support 5.1.
Im sure my AVR supports audio over HDMI as well, but I dont know whats going on. The current method I have works fine at least, but it requires a few more clicks on the various remotes to switch inputs etc. However Im having trouble connecting my DVD/VHS Recorder.
Its a Magnavox ZV420MW8. I connected the RCA video/audio cables from the 722k's TV2 outputs, into the inputs of the Recorder. The outputs of the recorder go into the RCA inputs on the back of my LG TV.
I can watch DVDs from the recorder fine, as well as receive audio out from the digital SPDIf which goes into my AVR (has 2 SPDif inputs). But Im not getting any video from the 722k. Only audio.
The 722k is setup in Dual mode. We have no plans to use 2 seperate TVs, as the other TVs have their own receivers.
So how can I get video from the 722k into the recorder? What I need is to record whatever Im watching on the 722k. No need for fancy setups to record 1 program while watching another.
