I am excited to announce that we will be moving to our brand new $11,000 State of the Art Server TONIGHT!

Talk about moving up, we are moving from a server with 4 logicial processors to a server with 24 logical processors!

Because of this SatelliteGuys big move SatelliteGuys will be closing tonight at 10PM ET 7PM PT so that we can move to our new server! (There are a number of files we cant move to the new server with the site open.)

I am very excited about this move and can't wait until we are done, however it should be noted that when the new server comes online I expect some tiny gremlins and some things not to work correctly. This is normal and you can bet your last dollar that we will be working hard to fully restore all services!

Again we will be closing tonight at 10PM ET / 7PM PT so that we can complete the move to our new server. We expect this final work will take a few hours.

Thank you for your support and understanding!

Big Money Big Money, haha
Some really good news for Satelliteguys! I had no idea what those things cost, it must be gold-plated. Or with the price of copper these days-copper plated...

What all will be able to be done and the advantages as a result of such a larger server that will have 6x the logical processors and the additional space? I know it will help with space and speed but what else may be able to do in the future as a result?

The big reason for the move is we are out of drive space.

The second reason for the move is we are moving to a new ISP. This new ISP has better interconnects and does not charge us bandwidth overage fees saving us thousands of $$$'s a year.

I am hoping this new server lasts for at least 4 years for us and will give us plenty of room to grow. :D

Its been almost 5 years now when we purchased out first server. Before that we rented dedicated servers. We were paying close to $3,000 a month just for servers back then... so glad we got smart and started buying our own servers. :D

Yikes! That is really expensive!

You know shutting down the site @ 10 pm is going to help some of us sleep deprived people get some shut eye. :)
