2011 MLB Playoffs

While getting ready for work I'm watching a recording of Valverde being interviewed. He spoke for 3-minutes and I didn't understand a single word he said...but he sure was excited. :)

Kudos to Dombrowski for picking-up Fister and Young...we wouldn't be playing in the ALCS without them. Hopefully Betemit will "Get Hot" in the warm fall nights down in Dallas.

And Victor Martinez as well.

The Tigers finished 6-3 against the Rangers this season. I like think they're going to this the ALCS in six games. Also, with the day off for travel between cities, what are the odds Leyland will schedule Verlander to pitch games 1, 4 and 7?

Anyway, I look forward to an excellent series with a very good Rangers team.

This is the way I would set it up, but I'm more for the 4 man rotation as well. (in the reg. season).

Whew what a Saturday coming up!

I know it goes in cycles, but not a bad time to be a detroit sports fan-lions 4-0 with a Monday night game, tigers in playoffs, wings expect solid things out of them and pistons-well there locked out, that's a good thing :)

Leyland will pitch Porcello against the Rangers...but we'll see what happens.

Elsewhere, the NLDS games should be very exciting. I think both home teams will win their series this evening...but that's why they play the game.

Both teams HAVE to win tonight, it's game 5 for both .....

I want to see Gibby and the D-Backs !

Arizona and Detroit would be fun !

Detroit and St. Louis would be hyped as a Re Match.

Rangers and any NL would be touted as Back to Back appearances for them. (which is a good thing, for them anyways)

Don't forget Michigan, who now have a defense, and are looking to go 6-0. It should be a great sports weekend.

If the tigers can get past the rangers, I would like a tigers/Phillies series, I have some family out east that are Philly fans that would be fun

The Yankees and the 30M Man lost this one...no use in trying to fight the New York media - just enjoy watching the ALCS as the Tigers battle for the Pennant. :)

I assume you are referring to ARod, but if I put blame on one player, it's Jeter. Down one run in the eighth with the tying run on first, WHO IS STEALING ON THE FIRST PITCH, Jeter ONCE AGAIN swings at the first pitch! Unbelievable! When you are down a run, you have to tie the game before you can win it. Gardner would most likely have stolen that base and be in scoring position, but Jeter has to swing at the first pitch......oh well, good for the Tigers, they are a really good team and aside Valverde, very likable, too.

ALCS schedule (per my FiOS program guide)

Sat- @ Texas- 7:30pm ET (FOX)
Sun- @ Texas- 7:00pm ET (FOX)
Tue- @ Detroit- 7:30pm ET (FOX)
Wed- @ Detroit- 4:00pm ET (FOX)
Thur- @ Detroit- 7:30pm ET (FOX)
Sat- @ Texas- 7:30pm ET (FOX)
Sun- @ Texas- 8:00pm ET (FOX)

I wonder if those times are official yet. MLB.com still shows what days the games will be and where they will be at but the times are all listed as TBD. I really can't believe they would have an ALCS game played at 4:00pm eastern time on a Wednesday. Do they just not want anyone to watch? I would be shocked if all the championship series games for both leagues weren't in primetime. If they are trying not to compete with each other at least start it at 5:00 or 6:00.

It's kinda hard to have both in primetime if they are both played in the same time zone (especially ET). AL and NL are on different networks so they try to avoid any overlap...

Happy Halloween Everyone!
