I have a dish network 722 pointed at the western arc and have a panasonic TC-32LX70, I confirmed on Panasonics website that it has HDCP but my 722 will not accept it's HDCP and it's starting to frustrate me, tried 4 different cables and nothing, what's pissing me off more is that TV2 which as NOTHING to do with the problem is giving this message as well which is the most annoying. (to be blunt I want to smash this POS against a wall because of this stupid HDCP requirement) (seriously considering leaving dish) why should I buy new hardware when everything was fine a couple weeks ago, seriously dish? What where you thinking? Do you enjoy pissing off customers or is this the new norm? I like dish service but this is pretty difficult to swallow? Please tell me you have a solution in place ?!?

HDCP is a baby of the motion picture industry. They really don't care if Dish loses customers; it's DRM or else you don't get to watch their movies.

This is a little more complicated then it sounds, my real issue is with TV2 and it saying that HDCP is needed for a Coaxial input, from what I understand dish was suppose to only effect TV1 with HDMI connections that arent HDCP Complient and not effect TV2 (which can only be seen with an analog connection) my main question is my television supported (It should be), Do cables really matter as I have tried one from my xbox 360, a monster cable, another crappy cable from tiger, and another that I think I got with my 722 (has a break out cable for DVI) the only thing left to blame is my 722, which leads me to this forum and hoping someone has some ideas (besides plugging it into componant, can't do that because that input is used by my dvd player) Im not totally upset but my concern is TV2 should work!!!!!

DRM can prohibit any analog output. Or it can downrez analog output. Or a few other things. It's not Dish. All the options for each program are chosen by the studio/HBO/etc. Dish is not choosing to do this nor is their equipment defective.

But it doesn't even see my television which IS HDCP complient!! thats the most frustrating part, and how can you downgrade an already analog input on TV2, from what Scott and the others have mentioned here on the forum is that TV2 would not be affected at all and would not be a cause for concern for televisions connected to it, and the only cause for concern would be TV1 outputs from HDMI to televisions which don't have HDCP!

Did I miss it or have you not said you did a hard reboot of the receiver AND TV - pull the plug for at least 30 seconds on both.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the most simplest thing, and most people forget to mention that but yes I have done that many times, between cable changes, Today I also went as far as to update my tv's firmware to address another issue, thinking it might also help but to no avil did that help, my only conclusion is that dish has to update there firmware to support more tv's BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY LEAVE TV2 ALONE and ensure that its signal goes through since it is an analog connection and shouldn't even display that message about HDCP!!!!! as thats a TV1 issue with HDMI

Have you tried component? Many have reported success without down-rezzing. Also, you have not said if this this is with PPV and HBO or all channels?

This is with HBO, and I can't use component as my DVD player takes the one spot I have for it, otherwise I would have done that already, this is mentioned in the orginal post, Thanks though any other ideas to perhaps make HDCP work? or do I just have to wait untill dish issues a firmware update?

No it was not. Nor on second or third, regardless. You were in a bit of a fury, you must have forgotten.

Switching to component cables on TV1 will allow you to view the HBO channels on both TV1, and TV2 (or RCA/Coax). If your TV is HDCP compliant, I can submit a report for you. I would need you to send your exact TV model number, account number, and software version in the receiver

TV Model is Panasonic TC-32LX70, it has HDCP (confirmed from Panasonic's Specifications for this TV) hopefully I am allowed to post the link, so Matt and anyone else can see the page Panasonic TC-32LX70 Support and Service Information and software on the 722 is L677, account number was sent in a PM of course! Thanks Matt, I hope this is just a software issue, as I really don't want to change the configuration (all of this is mounted on the wall hence the issue of also switching to component makes things hard at this current time)

M3 - In response to one of your earlier questions.. "No", HDMI cables in most cases won't make much of a difference. When you get beyond 15~20 feet, then you want to make sure you're starting to use good/decent cables.

Because its a Digital signal, HDMI will more likely fail to give any video ... than to selectively block HDCP.

You were right to try and update the firmware of the TV, though unless it were wide spread and faulted back to Panasonic's dealing with HDCP the source (dish receiver) would be responsible for ensuring its doing things right.

When you go to test with Component Cables, don't have the HDMI cabled plugged in at the receiver's side. The receiver seeing any conductivity out there might presume a HDMI connection is there but not making valid HDCP communication and so would again disable Analog outputs.

If component works ... then you're left with only one other alternative.. a Component Switch box or AV Receiver that will take care of switching from one input to the other, will also allow multiple devices to connect, and just by very nature of being there, may help allow HDMI/HDCP to think all is ok (not getting a read back from the TV itself, but allowing the AV Receiver to say "all is well")

Sooner or later Dish may update firmware to get what ever is causing the problem worked out.

Good luck!

There is another thread on this. it is quite unclear what DRM is supposed to do but it is clear that it is not working consistently for all of us.

I know this doesn't help but, I have the same issue. I thought it was the receiver until I tried my PS3 and my DVD player and neither of them would work either. I found out that the HDCP on my TV quit working. I've tried to reset the TV several times. I've called the manufacturer and no one has been able to solve my problem. I now have to use the component cables with a switch.

Was this with a Panasonic TV too? or are you saying in general, Im pretty certain my HDCP works because I have another device connected through HDMI that reports that my HDMI supports HDCP, similar to the way dish has there software which marks yes beside HDCP on system info page 2, Thanks though I can only be left to conclude its the 722 it self and doesn't have the correct software to include certain HDCP TV's yet,
