Can the 722k OTA receive ClearQAM programs?

I have a 722k with an OTA module and a huge roof antenna but I think I'm having severe multi-path issues and other problems (ie. half of my OTA towers are in a different direction from the others, etc).

However, my Comcast internet connection provides me with free basic cable transmitted via ClearQAM (qam256) over coax cable.

Instead of plugging my antenna into the 722k module, can I plug my cable line?

I'd love to use my Dish receiver to via these ClearQAM channels, etc.

NO QAM. BTW multi-path isn't due to towers being in different directions from your location. It is caused by the signal being reflected from different buildings etc on the way to your location. What you sound like you have is multi-direction problems.

Plug you cable into the antenna in on the TV and do a channel scan using "cable" as the source. You can then just select either hdmi or antenna on the tv.

No.

No amount of rationalizing, testing, hoping or repeating/rephrasing the question is going to yield a different answer.

I believe he's telling the OP to bypass the sat box and connect directly to the TV and hope the TV can handle QAM.

You're confusing the agile modulator options with the tuner options. There is no option to scan cable channels.

Unless I do not understand the specific question, sure there is, at least on my 612, assuming the channels do not need a converter box. Just like the TV, the satellite box will scan the channels. Same as a Slingbox will. In fact you scan HRC and IRC.

Unless I do not understand the specific question, or if the 612 module is different, sure there is, assuming the channels do not need a converter box. Just like the TV, the satellite box will scan the channels. Same as a Slingbox will. In fact you scan HRC and IRC.

I don't think Dish satellite boxes work as cableco boxes.

I have to say yes, it does. As long as the signal is in the clear, with no cable box needed it is no different than hooking up to your TV. It is capable, and has instructions for hooking up a cable connection. The 612 has clear instructions on using an antenna, and using a cable signal. It even talks about what to try if you can not get a signal at first from cable.
He said his channels are in the clear. Again, if the 722K module is different, that's a different story, but at the least, some Dish sat boxes will get a clear signal Cable channel.

News to me and I have two 612's. I would be very surprised if this would work for clear-QAM. Perhaps there are some cable companies that put ATSC onto cable?

Exactly what I meant. I have super basic(Lifeline) cable. When I select Cable on auto scan, it finds QAM channels. I get both Syracuse and Rochester NY on regular cable channels in their VHF range, but I also get Elmira NY locals in the digital channel range.

Dish Network ViP receivers do work with ATSC cable signals, but not clear QAM or any flavor of QAM.

Almost no cable system (probably none now) use ATSC standard because it is less efficient than QAM.

REPEAT - NO - Dish VIP receivers DO NOT recognise QAM!

Ok, so it's the Qam that prevents it. When I first got my 612's Charter must have had (or still does) ATSC because I certainly could at that time, it was free with internet connection.
The TV at work is at least 10 years old, perhaps older. Would it be capable of getting clearQam signals from cable?. It gets Charter basic with no box.

Some cable system still use analog (NTSC in the US) for some basic, SD channels. Perhaps that is what is going on here.
