Another stupid question, but is the only time to get this on the weekend at night? I did a force download yesterday at 5:00 and it didn't download the HD guide. I have an HR24 500 if that matters.
The hd gui is in the stream through the week but you tryed too late in the night to get it.. jimbo is right its more like 3 am est... So probably from 3 - 4:30 would be a safe time to get it.
You are in CT in name only. Bethel is in Fairfield county which is the NYC dma. I'm in Cheshire and didn't get the national release yet.

The CE download can be forced on FRI and SAT between 11pm and 2:30am ET

I would not count on any CE downloads for the next two weeks due to the holidays. You never know, though.
I was pointing out to the user above my post that the CE (with the same HD GUI but a bit newer) can be had at those times since the later time didn't work for him.
The new HD gui isnt just in the CE, the NR is in the stream in the middle of the night when the scheduled to be updated recievers are picking it up
we all understand that.. you were missing my point of ONLY trying to help that one user find a way to get the HD GUI and NOT stay up late "his words" - no need to get all defensive on this.
haha I hate typing on these things, it would be better with a voice. I wasn't being defensive or anything I was just ah who knows lol
The HR20s are getting the new hd gui, it's only the H20 that can't because of the hardware. The HR34 hasn't for reasons unknown, to me at least.
