Just trolling over at DBSTalk and looks like they're heads are about to explode trying to figure out how a single tuner can record 4 channels at once. Well, all I've got to say is that I've had a few adult beverages, bumble bees can fly, and .. well it's magic!

All it is, is recording the whole TP. That's it. Dish has probably been aligning the big 4 on one TP for some time, with this in mind, with most everyone in Dish clueless as to the reason why. Gosh, I've got a big grin on my face!

BTW, bumblebees and helicopters don't fly. They beat the air into submission!

Vivek Khemka commented on the Charlie (whoops ... "Retailer") Chat that they will have great offers for new and existing customers with regards to the Hopper. We'll most likely find out next Thursday.

Other observations ... Amir is really short and it was nice to see Jim DeFranco again!

Hmmm, interesting thought. This might explain why after all the Pittsburgh locals were moved from 77 to 61.5, the "big 4" were duplicated on 77 again: for TP alignment purposes.

Errr- almost everything. Distribution over coax. HD to multiple TVs. Faster operation. Centralized whole house DVR. More tuners. etc etc etc.

blackloz asked the difference between the XIP and the hopper.... which i believe is nothing ... XIP was the early name during development until Dish decided to brand it as the Hopper/Joey.

This is correct one hard drive in the Hopper which is shared with the Joeys.

With the size of it I thought it was ext HDD. So sue me!

If i understand correctly, all the hoppers and joeys have ethernet ports on the back of them. So anyone know what those ports do in relation to the moca bridge device? Are they for completely separate functions?

new to this whole moca thing....
