Please someone tell me why in the world would the Jets picked up Sporano??
The guy was fired for putting out a bad product in Miami.

Plus he's not an offensive coordinator?
Rumors coming out their interested in Todd Haley?Another asinine move!

Lets pick up two coaches who ran bad teams with losing records.
It will make the Jets better????

Listen, Mike Martz is out there. He was fired but he happens to be an excellent ''proven'' offensive coordinator.
He had loads of injuries in Chicago. He actually did a very good job with what he had.

Nope jets are sticking with stupid! Stupid coaching, stupid hiring,..Just plain stupid!

Again, look no further then Foxboro. They run a team like a well oiled machine.
Follow their blueprint and the Jets will be ok.

Sorry to Rant folks. Im a life long ''suffering'' Jet fan.

Plus the team is bashing Sanchez in the press now? That I don't like.
Keep all that in house. Its not professional!

Im sick to my stomach at whats going on.

It's just a game. Sports shouldn't be taken so seriously.

The least of the Jets concerns should be the new coaches they hired. Their existing coach has created a snobish environment of entitlement, bravado and unjustified merit. It's only a matter of time when his mouth doesn't produce results when the whole thing blows up in his face. And that's the way it seems to be shaking out now. Especially when anonymous teammates are going on record, ousting their field general (Sanchez). How is Sanchez supposed to react in that locker room now? He's going to be second guessing everyone as to whether or not they were the ones who made the comments about him. Not a good way to solidify trust in the locker room.

Seriously, the environment that has been created in NY is not a good one. At all. Things will only get worse from here.

I can't help but think of how opposite the New England Patriots are in running their team that the situation going on in New York right now.

Good post, good points.

My point exactly about the Patriots. They run that team extremely well.

Not sure where the Jets go from here. Rex created a big mess.
I agree with the fact that his mouth has gotten him into lots of trouble.

If I'm the owner of this team I have a long talk with Rex about damage control.
If things get worse Im sure Rex will be in hot water.
Its basically his fault for not being stronger with his team.

Everything stays in house. Mouths shut!

Support your qb! He did get you to two AFC championships.
The line did a bad job this year.
Receivers not supporting QB as well.

Holmes needs to go! Team players only.

LOL the Patriots just picked up Josh McDaniels...who ran a bad team with a losing record!

The NFL's history is littered with excellent assistant coaches who flamed out in attempts to be a head coach. They usually seem to eventually find their comfort spot again somewhere...

I think Rex needs to have a closed door meeting with all players. He needs to tell them to air out their grievances right then and there. And assure them that anything brought up, will NOT leave the locker room. It's been a disappointing season for sure. Emotions were high. Give the team an opportunity to air their opinions, get it over with, be done with it and move on. It's what men do. It's how men should act. The way the Jet's are gossiping about each other is anything but manly though.

I agree with your sentiments on Holmes. He's never been a team player. I didn't like him at OSU and is probably the reason he's not in Pittsburgh anymore either.

Of course it is...I was just commenting because I thought it was funny the way he criticized the Jets about one particular thing and praised the Patriots, who did the same thing.

I'm not personally criticizing any of the hires by either team.

Sparano came up with the Wildcat at Miami, which the Jets are also trying to utilize. I can't speak for Haley, but Sparano did keep the Dolphins interesting even if they didn't always win. The problem is turning Sanchez into a legitimate franchise QB. The Jets also need a legitimate RB which they could get by drafting Trent Richardson(if he's coming out in the draft).

He most likely is. I don't see him dropping that far though (16). Trent Richardson is a top 5 talent. Unless of course the Jets are willing to trade up. I do agree their primary concern going into the offseason needs to be shoring up that run game.

What the Jets need to shore up first and foremost is the offensive line, which is supposedly Soprano's specialty.

Kinda funny that with a Giant playoff game both last Sunday and next Sunday, the vast majority of talk on sports radio here is about the Jets!

Haley,Mcdaniels,Sparano,Spagnoulo,Capers,Phillips, and Turner off the top of my head are great assistant coaches but not very good head coaches.Suppose you could add Del Rio,and Frazier to that list and there are many others.

I think Sparano will help improve the Jets but they might need to upgrade QB to have a shot at the SB.

I'm still hoping the Eagles will snag Spags for help with the D!

TR is #3 on Mel Kiper's latest Big Board....

i think the difference is josh was already there and did a good job. no matter the reason it worked the first time around.

Totally agree. The list is endless. Mike Martz, Ray Rhodes, Eric Mangini, Mike Tice, Leslie Frazier, Dave Campo, Raheem Morris and a whole bunch I'm forgetting.

Some of these may succeed if they get a second attempt.
