Your computer was able to connect to your device, but the connection was interrupted. (Error 36)

Please try connecting again.

Okay I am going to try my best to make this as detailed as possible. Looking through a lot of the forums already made about the Sling adapter, I have only found a few forums that may relate to my problem but no real fix for it for my specific issue. Here's the low down:

Cannot seem to connect to the sling adapter on the same network via DO (DishOnline) that the Sling adapter is connected to; however, Sling adapter works perfectly fine on other networks as it should, so it's a localized/in-home network issue but I cannot locate the problem to fix it.

I made sure all the specs in order to run the Sling is up to date.

Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit OS
Google Chrome 17.0.963.78 m
DISH VIP722K HD DuoDVR
Westel D90-327W15-06 (FW UpToDate)
Frontier Communications DSL (3.5Mbps/.7Mbps)

Receiver connected via Ethernet Port directly to Westel Router
------------

The Sling Adapter works properly on other networks, just not on mine. What that means is that I cannot connect (WiFi or Wired) to the Sling on DO (DishOnline) on the same network that the Sling Adapter is connected to.

Now I can pull the log file from the Sling Adapter but I don't know how to read it to see what type of error it is showing so if you need the most current log file to view, if it could help your case, you can download it via TXT on the attachment below. It is the most recent/current log file (raw, not edited).

I'm not sure what other information you need but what I am trying to do is to get the sling to work via my home network which there seems to be some kind of communication problem between my router and the receiver. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you to those who read this and very much thanks for those who wish to help me on this little challenge!

I see you are running Chrome and Windows 7. are you trying to load the Sling from Windows or Chrome? Due to restrictions, I am unable to download a file attachment.

Have you connected anything else to the 722k via a USB Hub? For instance, it is not supported, but there are people who plug a powered USB hub into the USB port of their VIP DVR, and then attach a sling adapter and EHD.

The Sling Adapter should be UPnP, and should be detected autocratically. You can disconnect the Sling from the receiver for a couple of minutes and plug it in to see if it is recognized. You might alternately try resetting the receiver.

If possible, please cut and paste the log file into a PM and I will see what I can find out for you , about this.

I am running Windows 7 but Chrome Browser (Not Chrome OS).

No nothing is connected to the USB other then the sling adapter.

I do not believe my router supports UPnP, as all my devices cannot recognize it when it's on. FW has UPnP put in, however. I have it turned off.

I will copy/paste the log file as is to you via PM for easier access.

Thank you for your response.

That sounds good.

That sounds good.

Yes I'm sure it sounds good but none of that has fixed my issue yet. I'm not sure how to pin point where the problem is because i have read similar reports of other users having issues with it on their home network but working on other networks. It's quite confusing.

Caltosy, I have the EXACT problem you have - I can view dishonline.com DVR contents on other networks (wireless etc) but not on the Ethernet Powerline connection linked to my main computer. So frustrating. I spoke with Dish Support yesterday and they supposedly sent me a software patch on the receiver but I see no difference this morning. I hope Dish puts some resources into fixing this issue.

Caltosy, I have the EXACT same problem that you have. I can login to dishonline.com from other networks including a wireless network within my home. However, I cannot login to the Powerline Ethernet connection in my home - the one that is connected to my Dish 722. I spoke with Dish customer service yesterday and they sent some software upgrade yesterday but it hasn't worked. I hope they fix this problem soon. It has been an issue for many months from what I have read.

OK I got it fixed! Earlier I was plugging the Ethernet cable directly from my powerline adaptor in the wall to the 722. I moved my router near my 722. I plugged the Ethernet cable from the powerline adaptor into my router and used another cable from a LAN connection on the back to connect to the 722. For some reason, this works perfectly and I no longer have the error 36. What a relief!
