From what i gather the OP was a former Absoluter and is either finished or on his last month of programming credits and thats most likely why they aren't willing to deal! But, of course! I could be wrong!

By the time that happens I'll most likely be a "new customer", costing DISH hundreds of dollars more than if they had offered me the proper upgrade price initially.
Or a new customer with a different service entirely. Then to get you back, not only will they have to offer you a "new customer" deal, but they would be losing income from a customer they already have for probably two years. I swear pay-tv providers sure do some stupid things.

For the people who did not qualify yesterday I would try again today. Dish requalified all of their customers last night. We just got a customer signed up today that did not qualify yesterday.

Would you recomend through Dish or DIRT? Don't want to overload DIRT if we don't have to but they do seem to have a better handle on things.

That argument doesn't hold water for me, either. I am a customer who signed up under a plan that they offered. They took that plan away and, without my request (or approval) provided me with credits to make up for doubling my monthly fee. Those credits ran for 6 months, I think, so I lost those 6 months ago. During those 6 months I bought a Sling for $99 from DISH, added an EHD for something like $50, and added DVR service to my 211k for around $50.

It's not like they have never or stopped making profit off of me. I have the protection plan and have never had a service call. That makes them $72/year easy money over 5 years = $360.

Why did you get only 6 months of credits? Everybody else got a year!

Well, that's not a way to do business. I received a credit for an installer who didn't show up 3 years ago and last summer for spending over 2 hours on the phone trying to get a new 211 activated...

Last summer was less than a year ago. Don't they make you wait a year for upgrade offers at regular prices?

Not necessarily. I did a DIU to HD, swapping out my 625 for a 722 back in August, and Zach told me I was eligible for the Hopper ($100) upgrade.

Has your account been suspended or shut off at anytime in like the last six months? I know they do have a policy for upgrades when it comes to the leased offers and i had to wait six months after my account was shut off to do the free upgrade

I was told $200 to upgrade via chat. 1H/2J

I was quoted the same thing yesterday. I have a 922. 612 and 381. I wanted to replace one of my receivers since I live with 2 other roommates. In order to receive the Hopper I'd have to give back ALL of the receivers on the account even though I only want to replace 1 of the receivers and use the Hopper on 1 TV. I don't even need the Joey. Dish says the Hopper requires 2 TVs to work. Dish pulled this with the 922 when it was released. They tried to say it wouldn't work on 1 TV, but it does.

I have a 722 and a 612. they need to change it where you can have other receivers besides hoppers and joeys only.

2H/0J How did you do it- or fail trying?

How many 211's can you have on your hopper account?
