Dish Network Sales Office Closed Early, Nobody Answering The Phone!

My Mother's DirecTV agreement has expried, and I am beginning to explore options with Dish, along with other providers. The Dish Welcome Pack looks very enticing, but not sure what equipment and satellite dish I will have to purchase in advance in order to have the Welcome Pack. Maybe, it just makes economic sense to order her the Family package to take advantage of the free equipment, activation and installation (with a term agreement) and then downgrade to the Welcome Pack after installation and activation.

Anyway, when calling the (800) 680-8574 number to reach Dish sales, the recording says their office is closed at 11:30 p.m., eastern time. Here in the pacific time zone, it's only 6:30 p.m. (or at least that was the time I called), so that should be 9:30 p.m., eastern time and another two hours before they close. Could it be that Dish closed one of their sales centers in the eastern time zone becuase of some sort technical problem, weather or building emergency? The number I called is the Amazon offer number.

Since that number was not answering (and telling me it was "after hours"), I also tried calling the (800) 823-4929 general number, and the recording keeps running in a loop that you're call will be answered, but nobody came on the line after 15 minutes, so I'm assuming that the problem is affecting Dish at all locations where they handle new customer inquiry/sales calls?
 
I dont know what numbers those are but have you tried calling 1-800-333-DISH?

The first number (800) 680-8574 is the number listed at the Dish site for the $100.00 Amazon new customer offer, www.dish.com/amazon.

The second number (800) 823-4929 is the number listed at the top of the page for dish.com, which I'm assuming that since neither I nor my Mother are customers, I receive the new customer page instead of the current customer page when accessing the dish.com website. The dish.com website has the telephone number for new customer Dish sales, not general customer service for new customers. I wonder if Dish is having trouble with their telephone system and the ability to properly route inbound calls when new/potential customers are calling the telephone numbers dedicated for new sales?

I will try the number you suggested. By the way, since I (really, it's for my Mother) am not a customer of Dish, is it acceptable to use the resources of the Dish Internet Resource Team as another poster suggested? Also, does DishStore.net still offer their special rebate deals for new customers ordering Dish through that dealer? When I click on the dishstore.net page for Dish Network, it redirects you back to satelliteguys.us. By the way, the first link has some sort of security problem, as the link in the browser window is red, but that has nothing to do with your site.

I agree with contacting a DIRT member, and I am sure that you could give the DIRT member the Amazon offer code(s), too.
If you have trouble via phone or online CSR, DIRT is the way to go. In fact, you may just want to skip those two options in the future and go straight to a DIRT member.
