My Mother's DirecTV agreement has expried, and I am beginning to explore options with Dish, along with other providers. The Dish Welcome Pack looks very enticing, but not sure what equipment and satellite dish I will have to purchase in advance in order to have the Welcome Pack. Maybe, it just makes economic sense to order her the Family package to take advantage of the free equipment, activation and installation (with a term agreement) and then downgrade to the Welcome Pack after installation and activation.
Anyway, when calling the (800) 680-8574 number to reach Dish sales, the recording says their office is closed at 11:30 p.m., eastern time. Here in the pacific time zone, it's only 6:30 p.m. (or at least that was the time I called), so that should be 9:30 p.m., eastern time and another two hours before they close. Could it be that Dish closed one of their sales centers in the eastern time zone becuase of some sort technical problem, weather or building emergency? The number I called is the Amazon offer number.
Since that number was not answering (and telling me it was "after hours"), I also tried calling the (800) 823-4929 general number, and the recording keeps running in a loop that you're call will be answered, but nobody came on the line after 15 minutes, so I'm assuming that the problem is affecting Dish at all locations where they handle new customer inquiry/sales calls?
