MLB Strike Zone to Launch

This is will be similar to how Dish does RZ for football.

Usually a channel like this will be part of the league specific package, like Extra Innings in this case. Since Dish does not have EI, making it part of their general multisports package makes the most sense. Another way to help get more people to sub to this package.

The update that I received this morning states that it will be in the Multi Sport package. It does not mention being available in any other packages.

Any word on a free preview for the first week or even for one day like they do with RedZone? I'd like to see this in action before I decide if it's worth $9 a month to me. The only other Multi Sport channel I watch during the summer is BTN for some college baseball and I already get that included as a RSN in my area.

Also dish is adding an alternete channel for MLBN, got an email today. Its lsted on the 5000 range maybe they will map it down since thwy made some room above MLBN in the channel line up

If I was DISH I would mapdown the MLB alternate to ch 149 since ncca basketball is over. Another scenerio would be move SPEED to 149 or move NBCSPORT to 149.You could then put MLB alternate to ch 151

They need to map down both MLB and NHL. Doing one without the other is just a shame.
I have never understood Dish's channel grouping system. I've been with Dish for years now, and I still really only have minimal understanding of where particular channels are and how they are grouped.

153 MLBSZ in red

So it looks like MLBN ALT won't be mapped down to 153 like we thought. Does this mean it won't be mapped down at all like they are doing with the BTN ALT channels? It's not very convenient to have to search the 4 digit range to look for your game. I'm guessing most subs will just assume the game isn't available to them when they tune in 152 and it gives the blackout message.

I wish the Welcome Package would be allowed to pick up the multi sports package....I'd shell out 9 bucks so fast....but...econmics keep my from upgrading to quailifing packages.....

How about using one the ESPN Alt channels (I count 4) for baseball and hockey? They only need "4" 2 weeks out of the year at the most
