Did satellite 129 get shot down? Signal was fine early this morning then just within the hour it's gone, 0 signal. All channels, HD and SD, are pixellated and often the partial signal loss or complete signal loss comes up. Tech coming out tomorrow afternoon. As someone who subscribed and installed exactly a week ago, and has already needed one receiver replacement, this does not inspire confidence.

129 is doing just fine here. It would seem, with an installation just one week old, that the installer could have done a better job of aligning your dish. Once you get that fixed all will be well.

Why would you immediately throw the installer under the bus?
brand new receivers and LNB's fail, Ground blocks fail, Existing home wiring and diplexers fail right out of the box.

I had a service call where the customer lost most of here programing, she was having her house painted and the painters set up scaffolding right in front of the dish!
I have had customers mess with the dish alinement (thinking they could improve it) and loose it all together.
I asked him if he messed with it (helps to know when your troubleshooting it) he said no
The alinement marks were all scratched up, so I know he was lying
And some how its the installers fault because I didn't weld the dish and put up a "no scaffolding here" sign.

That said Loosing one of three sats is usually line of site issues, any trees or other obstructions near the path of the dish (129 is on the right as you look from behind dish)

LOS is not an issue. Dish is on the roof in Colorado, not a cloud in the sky. Now this afternoon reception seemed to be back, though when I checked 129 it still had no signal. Is it possible that I never had 129, but it's only a problem during certain times of day?

goto "check switch" on the "point dish" screen (don't test) it will show the results of the last test, is 129 there?
What transponder are you using when checking 129 signal?
Some of them will read 0 all of the time
Try tp 21

"System info" (menu 6-1-3) will also show what satellites you should have

Well hud you were on the money. Changed transponder to 21 and satellite 129 popped up with a 59. I don't know what's up - maybe the dish wasn't attached tight enough and the high wind messed with it? Tech coming out tomorrow so hopefully he finds something, and it's not just one of those "things". Thanks for the help everyone.

Did satellite 129 get shot down?

Yes it was us, the NORTH KOREANS. NORTH KOREA IS BEST KOREA.

Just kidding :) . By the way 59 on TP 21 is a little low. What's your signal strength on TP 19, 20, 29, 30?

Just to update - the tech came out on Saturday and he was the best tech ever. He went over everything and found all kinds of issues from the initial installation. He reinforced and realigned the dish, replaced cabling that had been water damaged, replaced the LNB which had a short, fixed a connection where the polarity was reversed, and replaced a low frequency wall outlet with a high frequency one. After all this my signal strength went from just ok to screaming. Thanks all!
