Well, we got the system installed, and am able to watch on all three TV's. I currently have the Hopper connected to the router with ethernet, but when I go to set it up for on demand, it shows DHCP acquired as OK, but server and internet connection as failed. I have tried to reset it a couple of times with no luck.

Any ideas? Everything else plugged into this router works great, and I have tried multiple cables, including ones that I know are good.

It was just installed this morning. I sent the tech on his way as this was his first hopper install, everything else worked great, and I figured I would get great help here.

ok, thanks. Not a big deal as I rarely use on demand stuff, but since it is there, I do want it to work.

Ill tell ya, the hopper system, name aside, is pretty slick. Of course I am just getting a feel for it, but its impressive.

After the recent S209 Hopper and S261 Joey I lost all connections, DHCP, internet and server. I did a unplug both units re-boot, nothing...I suppose the more involved Joey reset is next, removing coax etc.....TV at the Joey works fine. Anyone else have this after the updates? With S210 coming so soon makes you wonder...?

anyone know how to turn off PIP to free up a tuner? I see no option to turn it off. I click "x", and it just closes it out, but does not free the tuner.

Also, what is the deal with the kangaroo in the bottom right of the screen. I see it on the hopper and one of the joeys. Very annoying

It means that two devices are watching the same thing. :)

The Hopper logo watermark in the bottom of the corner lets you know someone is sharing the same tuner stream as you. Just gives a heads up so both people know that any pause or channel change will affect someone else's TV.

ETA: Geez Scott you are quick on the draw there :)

Thanks on the response for that.

Until I figure out how to manage tuners, one hopper will not cut it coming from my directv setup. This is aggravating.

I love the speed. Love most all of it but damn there is no way to clear a tuner easily. This is a bad oversight.

Before S209, my Joeys would always take the unused PIP tuner, now during primetime they show no live TV available whether the Hopper has PIP active or not.

What was your DirecTV setup?

I had three HRs. 6 tuners. I know I'm going down but we didnt use them most of the time. Three or four should do it. With the poor way they have to manage them though, unless I am missing something, I need another hopper. Or I run the risk of disconnecting someone to watch something else.

I ordered another one. I may try to see if it gives me more options as I learn.

Are you leasing both from Dish? If not, you need to order a Duo Node and a 75ohm terminator for one of the client ports as well (unless you are keeping the 2nd Joey). 2H/1J is the way to go. Gives the system 6 tuners once 2 Hopper integration is enabled.

I just wish I could get the hopper to give up a tuner. It shows thee being used. One recording dora for the kid. One watching espn. And one watching the same Dora feed that is recording. I can not free that tuner. There needs to be a darn x to cancel one out. This is crazy. Otherwise it's good

join the tuner and change the channel to whatever you want.

Try rebooting the hoppers and joeys. Hopper has a red reset button behind the front flap. For Joeys, you just hold the power button down.

Also, how many joeys do you have? just one?

I've done that. More often than not it Takes me to the channel I want and disrupts the channel that it is recording as well. It seems since I hit pip that it has twin tuners tied up no matter what I do. Even a reset.

Joining a tuner should never disrupt a recording.

Also, PIP should not tie up tuners. So, there's definitely something wrong.

It's showing it recording. And in the "kids room ". It should be taking the same tuner.

It isn't. I've reset it all. Started after I hit pip.
