If you have purchased a Sling Adapter for your 722's or Hoppers you should probably get your now!

As of May 21st the price for the Sling Adapter will increase from $30 to $49.99

Contact your favorite DIRT member to get your Sling adapter now. ;)

(BTW I am hearing the Protection Plan prive is going up from $6 a month to $7 a month as of 5/21 as well.)

They should've waited til they got all the bugs out of the Hopper first for those of us who aren't upgrading til we see if they DO.

Don't even have to have a Hopper. 722/722K also use the Sling Adapter.

That being said, I'm enjoying my FREE Sling Adapter on my Hopper :D .

By the way, if you're waiting for ALL the bugs to be ironed out of Hopper, you'll be waiting a LONG time. Hell my 722Ks were still buggy 2 years into their lifetime. That being said, none of the bugs on the 722Ks or the Hoppers are worth "holding out" on (at least for me.) They are the best DVRs I've ever used!

I think they must be selling so well at $30 (along with the Hopper?) that Dish felt they could squeeze some more out of us.

I think the release of the Hopper has been their best rollout ever.

The Hopper has been a walk in the park compaired to other new DISH receivers at release.

I don't know if I should pick up a second Sling Adapter for my second Hopper.... hmmm...

So do we have any idea if a second sling adapter will be needed once 2-hopper integration is rolled out?

If they are going to integrate seamlessly, what use would there be for a second Sling Adapter?

They could have changed the price back to its regular MSRP of $99 again. :)

It still a lot cheaper then a $249 stand along Sling Adapter!

But at 249 it isn't neutered like the little usb one. I never used it due to the forcing of the locations I could watch it from.

Ahh hell, I almost missed that. I guess they're going to take advantage of all the Hopper upgrades with people using the DHPP to lower/waive the installer fee. Will it still be 5 months minimum? It used to be 6.

Don't waste your $30 bucks on a sling adapter with Dish if you have a 722k and comcast as your internet provider. They no longer work with the smartphone app Dish Remote Access currently.

I was talking about the protection plan price increase. Sure it's only $1, but in a household where we watch every penny that sucks.

But with a stand alone (REAL) Slingbox you have total control of your receiver (except for the colored buttons)

Well, for FREE I get just about everything I'm interested in. For $249 - well, I can think of ways of spending it resulting in a better bang for the buck for me.

I don't dispute them offering a reduced function device for WAY less. Some want Ford, some want Cadillac.

Thanks for the heads up Scott, i am contacting a DIRT member now about ordering two of them. I have been putting it off for the longest time. Even when full Hopper Integration comes and if you only need 1 after 5/21 it's going to cost $50 but right now now 2 Sling Adapters will only cost $60, only $10 more. I rather lose $10 by buying two now and only having to use one in the future then having to pay out $40 additional dollars if Hopper Integration still requires two Sling Adapters to access content from both Hoppers.

I am not buying that one, if Comcast was blocking the dish sling adapter it would be in violation of the net neutrality laws.

I know a bunch of folks on Comcast using the sling adapter without an issue.
