FSN

TruTV
History
MLB Net

Not even close, and I probably wouldn't want to pay what it would cost if the provider wasn't picking the channels. Same old ........

I could, especially if the price was right. I just looked at my DVR events and not counting the movie channels that I recorded from when they were in free view, I counted 12 stations (5 of which were network stations) that my shows were on. 12 channels is cutting it close.

Ahh yes, another A La Carte thread. All I can say is, I wish.

I think that a LOT of people would jump on a 12-channel A La Carte. Too bad it will never happen, though...

Could I live with it yes, but cost wise most likely would not work. As cost wise would probably would cost much more what my parents were paying in the 80's for cband even considering todays prices versus back then. As some here have said those days are not coming back, those were fun tv times if you were into satellite and I know for many today they still enjoy cband which is great that they keep it going!

Since this is posted in the DISH forum they do provide many diferent package choices at least.

Easily. I am doing it now because I don't watch more than that even though they are there and I have to pay for them.

If it were cost effective, yes, easily. It wouldnt be though, so it doesnt really matter.

For fun, my channels are below:
ESPN
ESPN2
ESPNU
CBS Sports Network
FSS
CBS
Fox
Fox News
CNN
ABC
NBC
CW

The networks besides CBS (for sec football) are for my wife. Personally, I never watch them unless there is a college game on one of them.
I could do without the news channels as well if I had to cut more, I watch them, but there is nothing there that I could not easily get through their respective sites.

12? That might be tough. 5? now 5, I could do. (not counting OTA locals)

History
A&E
HGTV or ESPN during racing season
Speed
TVLand

That's all I use, unless I'm required to watch other ones.

CNN
History
Nickelodeon
Cartoon Network
ESPN
ESPN2
MSNBC
RT
Lifetime
Discovery
TLC
Comedy Central

Looks like no problem, we all could get along with a dozen channels. Thing is, we can't agree on which twelve channels!

I'm not tied to channels, I'm tied to my Dish Pass timers based on content. So I could go for months or years without watching anything on a particular channel, but one of my timers may just pick something up from a channel I haven't watched in forever.

Land where we pronounce our "R" as "ah"
Locals I'd use OTA.

So my list would be:

1.) NHL Net
2.) NBC Sports Net
3.) TBS
4.) TNT
5.) FX
6.) USA
7.) History
8.) Discovery
9.) FOX News
10.) MSNBC
11.) NESN
12.) CSN New England

If I could have 16 it wound include

13.) CNN
14.) ESPN
15.) Comedy Central
16.) NFL Net.

Wasn't it originally a la carte back in the day of C-Band dishes?

For me (non-premium):
1) Fox Soccer
2) TNT
3) Comedy Central
4) Science
5) TCM
6) Food Network (presuming actual cooking shows)
7) DIY (presuming they show actually DIY stuff and not real estate programming)
8) Cartoon Network
9) Nick
10) Noggin (or whatever it is called now)
11) ESPN
12) ESPN2

There are probably a couple I could switch out for that aren't coming to mind. The problem would be, the price for this would probably be the same as Top 120. You aren't going to be able to pick and choose top level networks for $20 a month.
