Nice comeback for the Pirates last night, down 4-0 and winning 5-4.

The MONSTER dong hit last night by Giancarlo Stanton not only went REALLY far, it did some SERIOUS damage to the scoreboard in left field. This is from my buddy's phone last night in the game against the Rockies.

Notice the scoreboard beyond the left field foul pole after the home run. On the bottom left hand side of the scoreboard, you will notice some blackout boxes...THAT'S where he hit it. Oh yeah, it was ANOTHER grand slam.

According to ESPN and HR Tracker...the ball came off of his bat at 122.5 mph and went a distance of 462 feet. Supposedly it would have travel well over 525 feet because (1) the downward trajectory did not start until it cleared the middle of the left field bleachers and (2)..the scoreboard was in the way.

DAMN!

What does one third of a billion dollars buy you these days??

A combined 42-42 record and tied for last place in the AL East, that's what. :o

Here's the top 5 payrolls and currents records for each team:

1. Yankees- $197,962,289..............21-21
2. Phillies- $174,538,938................21-22
3. Red Sox- $173,186,617.............21-21
4. Angels- $154,485,166................18-25
5. Tigers- $132,300,000.................20-21

WOW, not one team currently over .500. No wonder MLB keeps losing fans.

No, MLB has been losing fans because of those salaries, not because of the records of the top paying teams. The only way to stop the bleeding is to implement a salary cap and build parity like the rest of the other Big 4 leagues.

2 Teams have ALOT of injuries(red Sox and Phillies) if I am not mistaken. The rest, have no excuse. I won't even go into why they lose fans because that can cause major disagreements. LOL!

Reds are only .5 game out of first now.

With Sweeney the lastest Sox casualty in the OF, Youkilis on the way back from the DL and rookie Middlebrooks continuing to hit, may we see a Gonzalez move to the outfield.....at least temporarily??
Yep, he's in RF this afternoon. Sox also called up Scott Podsednik and he's in CF today....

Lin is in center for the Red Sox tonight... but I read earlier today that the Knicks can match any offer... ;)

Lin got pipped by the newest Red Sox acquisition, Scott Posednick, who just hit the game winning run against the Orioles this afternoon.

and I hear he hit a HR in the 8th inning! Good for him. I have loved Scotty Po from way back in his Brewers days!

Yep, Podsednik hit a HR for the first time in over two years today, and it ultimately was the difference in the Sox 6-5 win.
