This posting is aimed more at the DIRT memebers. I just had dish installed yesterday and the tech did not have a usb OTA tuner like I discussed with the sales person on the phone. Is their any way I can get one sent to me. Thanks

He did not have one because it's not available yet. It is supposedly coming (refuse to say s**n) but not yet. If sales rep told you otherwise, they really don't know

Hope OP is not to disapointed, in his post it appeared that he was expecting OTA function

Dish has dropped the ball on this for sure. They should have the OTA USB available by now.

It's probably not much longer. But experience, having gotten my attention with a 2x4, has taught me to wait until its actually for sale. And then a bit more.

And I certainly agree- why the wait. And don't TRY to tell me it's for further testing.

As others have said, people have been waiting a long time already for this. It is several months late from original estimates and there is speculation that it may be due to FCC or patent issues which could mean many more months of waiting. Of course, Dish refuses to release any information about it so it is just speculation.

I don't know if I'd say "several" months late. The Hopper has only been out for 7 months and OTA wasn't really thought to be available until June or July. I think it's just people getting antsy.

I suppose you're right- it's about 3-4 months off the original estimate. I am antsy at this point. I wish Dish would give out some "official" info about it.

We will probably know when they know. ;) As I said the big piece of the pie is currently out of their hands.

It IS coming again I can promise you that. :D

I thought I'd be more antsy but not having OTA hasn't really bothered me at all. If I really wanted to watch OTA I could just connect the antenna directly to my TV but I've never felt the need to. It was great on my 922 because of the added timers and helped with conflicts but with the PTAT now I never have to worry. Now, saying that, I still plan on getting the OTA tuner when available. I just don't NEED it.

I agree for the most part. The only reason I might use it is to be able to record OTA when rain fade kills PTAT.
