DISH -VS- VOOM - A Settlement has been reached!

Market Watch ( http://www.marketwatch.com/story/dish-network-and-voom-reach-settlement-2012-10-21 ) is reporting that "DISH will resume broadcast of the AMC channel Sunday, October 21. The AMC channel will be carried on DISH channel 131."

I want my Walking Dead!

Wasn't AMC on 130 before (which they replaced with HDNet Movies)? Maybe they will keep HDNet Movies for the masses?

I'm surprised Dish got away so low. I thought it would be way lower. Perhaps Dish had some more evidence in their back pocket. After all, Voom had some surprises, no reason Dish couldn't have some when they would have gotten to present the defense.

I also thought the deal might be richer, but with Dish getting some internet rights for AMC programing for Blockbuster/DishOnline, along with IFC HD. I see nothing on that.

I also wonder what the price Dish is paying for AMC. I also thought some money might be carried in inflated carriage costs, which AMC could use to raise the going rate with other providers.

Well it just might be time to close the (Did you get a free roku from Dish thread) :D It had a great run.;)

Maybe I should have know something was up when I saw an ad for AMC's Comic Book Men while watching King of the Hill on Friday night and it said "here on AMC", but stopped just short of saying the channel number. Or maybe that was just me wishing. :D

Went and got another $30 credit before the news filtered down to the chat CSRs. Yeah, I know, I am what is wrong with the system.

Wow, only took Dish 4 months and a lawsuit to solve this programming dispute.

One thing for sure is the $700 million is coming from somewhere, and it sure aint Charlie's pocket. Im sure we will start seeing the effects of this come Febuary 1st when their price freeze ends and they raise everyones rates.

I'll bet Dish has some Rokus left. Maybe they'll start selling them, if they can't return them. Of course, I'm assuming Dish was who was doing the actual shipping.
