Echostar 16 Launch - November 20 2012

61.5W is eastern arc. One must be careful in predicting coverage. They will probably only use 50 or so of the available 71 spots and just because they have the capability of providing local service from a given spot does not mean they will do so.

I sure hope that the Binghamton, NY DMA in HD is part of their plan with the new bird! SD is baaaad.

Dumb question.

I notice Mobile, Al (my market) is on the list for this satellite. I have an install set for 11/23, does it matter at this point whether they use a WA or an EA setup?

Mobile/Pensacola locals are on 61.4 and 129 in HD now. Choose whichever is best for your location. I have the WA setup.

European style dates go day/month/year (kinda makes sense going smallest to largest division). 12/11/2012 in Europe is 11/12/2012 to us backwards Americans, the day the press release came out.

Actually I think that is backwards as well. 2012/11/12 is how it should be written. I guess that's the programmer and DBA in me though. The wife fusses me and says I write dates backwards! I just laugh and don't waste the time to explain.

Well... You could consider big endian ordering, rather than just little endian. ;) Or did I say that backwards?

Is this wrong? ;)

Code:
select case when uLogName = 'oldlady' then (SELECT CONVERT(varchar,Tran_Date,101))
else (SELECT CONVERT(varchar,Tran_Date,111)) END as TRANXDATE,
            TRN_CAT,TRAN_LOC,TRN_AMT
from CUR_MONTH_EXP

"Why is yours backwards!!??"

Back to topic... the swap out is going to be interesting and pain on the uplink report. I've been looking a lot of the satellite data and such on this one. An anonymous source sent me some TIDs for this bird (transponder/beam IDs), and unfortunately they are re-using several of them from the current spotbeam satellite in place. So it may look goofy on some beams as I'll have to flip these resused TIDs over to their new names. In previous switch outs that may have used previously used a 8xx range for the old bird and then the new one was 12xx-16xx. I put in the new names on the new range and basically let it eat. That's not going to happen this time unfortunately.

Are there any other identifiers other than TIDs that you can use to distinguish them?

16/11/2012 ::

At a meeting of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, and technical guidance of the State Commission, in which considered the results of training and testing Launch Vehicle (ILV) "Proton-M" with the spacecraft (SC) "EchoStar-16", and decided to export readiness ILV the launch complex (SC) site 200.
Home transport rocket with technical complex planned for the UK at 4:30 MSK.
After delivery ILV will be installed in the starter, it will summarize the mobile farm service and staff calculations to start work on schedule the first launch of the day.
Launch of a space rocket "Proton-M" with the upper stage "Briz-M" and telecommunications satellites, "EchoStar-16" is scheduled for November 20.

Nope. The TID is the identifier. Where the data is pulled there is no pretty names like Echostar-12 TP 12 Spotbeam 1A or whatever, just like there's nothing in the streaming saying WABC New York,NY-ABC, or HBOE (HBO Entertainment) along with the link. That's all data I have from other sources that gets thrown in to make it readable by the typical joe.

How about time of day that the TID is sent/pulled, or any other timestamps in the data? Or other distinguishing data such as signal strength, signal type, call sign, etc?

I cannot set a timer for the launch on channel 101 at 12 pm CST 20 November. I get a pop up code 030 channel unavailable. The time slots before and after 12 pm I can set timers, but not the 12 pm launch slot. Anyone know why this is happening?

Mine did the same..... However, I set a manual timer for CH 101 for 11/20 from 11:30am to 2:00pm and it shows the 12PM slot as to be recoded. I did have to skip another timer that was set to record at 12pm.
