Does anyone know of any way to get a quicker install date/time for Directv? I called to sign up on the 24th and was told the soonest date they had was January 3rd. I would much rather get it installed before the 1st of the year if that's possible. I have called the past few days checking but keep getting told the 3rd is the soonest date in my area.

Fortunately the new house we are in has a DISH dish and our current DISH boxes work so it's not like we have no TV for the next few days. I'm just anxious for our new service and much cheaper bill. :)

IF you can find the office where their installers get their jobs / Work Orders (WOs) you could get lucky.

You have to be home and maybe an installer will get a nearby cancellation. No Line of Sight, quick service call, not home, canceled at the door, credit fail.........all give the installer an occasional gap in their day and they would be glad to fill it if they are nearby. Sometimes installations are assigned to an office that is overbooked and understaffed so the installation dates get pushed way out while another office has no work but may be close to you.

All I have mentioned is rare.....but the key to it is finding the local office who has your job.

How would I find out which office is doing the install?

Try the rescheduling feature on the website? I've heard in the past they have better availability online than they allow the phone reps.

That's the way I did it it gives you a calender that shown dates ,
the installer did say that with them offering 49.00 genie updates to that they have been swamped.

I tried to look at the rescheduling thing and all it says is that my account is still being created. :(

Don't even waste your time trying. There is absolutly nothing that can be done, except by going through a local retailer.

Im a Directv national retailer and we schedule nationwide. Every week I get customers who request a sooner install date than the first date that the computer spits out, and nobody can help. I have tried install support, retail services, our area sales manager Etc.

Seriously, I have tried so many times I just don't try any more to move up a date after the computer gave us the installation date.

Best thing I can suggest is call 1800-531-5000 every day and go through the automated system and try to reschedule. The only way you will get a sooner date is if someone cancels

Do you know the company that will be coming out to do his install ?

I've had luck contacting the Local installers to be able to get on thier "Cancellation List"

I hate to encourage this sort of thing but I did have one...The customer called and canceled. Told Directv he would be out of the country on the assigned install date. Instead of cancelling the guy's order they forced it into the schedule....mine. As it turned out I had the time to do it. But the cx said they do it to cable companies all the time when they move (military). Worked for them.

That was at least ten years ago....could work again.

My installation company had a national phone number. I called and they said it was no problem and they would check to see what they could do, they found a cancellation and moved me up. It was Ironwood.

How do I find out who my local installer is?

Directv won't give it to you. I don't think the system is setup to list that information.

You need to hope that they do a pre-call and confirm the installation date.

Best thing you can do is put your cell phone as the primary number on the Directv account, and make sure you ansewer if they call you.

On second though there are a few companies called Mastec, and Multi-band that Do Directv's installations. Could look up their number and call them Directly

Directv won't give me their name as they said they won't know who it is until the day they install it. Bullcrap.

Would you be able to tell me who it is if I gave you my location?
