Get a sooner install date?

Its either Mastec or Multi-band if I was going to take a guess. Those are the 2 big ones.

Multiband is running FS scheduler in several markets. If he is in one he's stuck waiting. Only VIP jobs get pulled. Bad thing is if you call today and we have a cancellation then you would get same day if the install is created and a date set up then its locked on for them markets. Stupid yes, try working with it. Never know what we're doing next and they send newbies to case management service calls because the jobs are not allowed to be moved except by the system.

Directv won't give it to you. I don't think the system is setup to list that information.

You need to hope that they do a pre-call and confirm the installation date.

Best thing you can do is put your cell phone as the primary number on the Directv account, and make sure you ansewer if they call you.

On second though there are a few companies called Mastec, and Multi-band that Do Directv's installations. Could look up their number and call them Directly

Well, they gave me the info I needed to locate my Local Installation company ...

Of course they know who's gonna be out there, they are the ones that send your info to them. :(

Not completely. Let's say multiband gets it and they send it to contractor X. Now multiband just gets a cut of the pay and the rest goes to the subcontractor and multiband has nothing to do with the job. So of DirecTV tells you it'll be multiband and contractor X shows up you may be asking questions and have unnecessary worries.

Directv won't give me their name as they said they won't know who it is until the day they install it. Bullcrap.

Actually, they don't. Thew work is not doled out until the day before the date scheduled.
That's especially true if there is ore than one service provider in a given area.

"FS scheduler"?...Is what?

"FS scheduler"?...Is what?

Nobody sees the jobs. Directv schedules the work orders and they get put in the scheduler. From there they get put in "unscheduled" status. Each tech gets 1 job and once you close that 1 job the next closest job gets "scheduled" to you. It's what directv is mandating all HSP and O&O markets use. It's a horrible idea and does not work how they believe it should. Markets that have went to it are seeing where's my techs and on time guarantee sky rocket.

I'm just going with our original install date of the 3rd. Thanks all!!

And Directv will love that they get FSR's for where is my tech and OTG. Because they charge back the install company for all of that. So they end up getting cheap or free work done, beause of a system they setup.

Just another lawsuit waiting to happen.

They have more than 1 contractor for a designated area ?

Oddly enough directv isn't charging back just yet and has erased certain metrics for the FS markets. They'll bring them back "once they figure out how to utilizes the software". That's what we keep being told.

At our prime our office has 4 different ones we use

I'm thinking the other way around ...
For example, pick a city, we'll say Toledo, Ohio seeing it's close to me ...

They have 1 Contractor that D* uses form the city as well as the 419 area ... btw, they are based out of Findlay.

We also have a Local Installation company Not affiliated with D* Installations, but authorized to Sell and Install D*.

I work as an installer for a local Directv/Dish retailer. We are only 3 days out on installs right now. Sometimes if I get done early and a call comes in for a one or two room, I will do it that day for the customer if it looks like an easy job. I will also call other customers and see if we can move a job up to fill up the rest of my day. Mind you this doesn't happen as a habit, because most of my days are already pretty full and long. Check out a local retail shop and see what they have as an option for install dates? You can have them do a faster install and cancel the one with Directv.
