Guide differences

Why am I not seeing the new guide? My Hopper 3 Plus and my other Hopper 3 are on software version H703 and all my Joey 4s and Wireless Joey 4s are on the latest software versions. All Hoppers & Joey 4s have the older guides.
It only went out to a small batch of people as a test.

I wonder if dish will be asking the people that got the new guide update what they think of it to help them make there minds up on wich way to go keep the old one or roll out the new one to everyone 🤔. for me it looks like it sucks and i would not want it i like the old guide better. though i am sure it will be shoved down everyones throats in time

I guess I am one of the "lucky" ones and I have given Dish an earful about their new "improved" guide. It looks like the only thing improved is the size of the preview image.

They moved the description to the top and more than doubled the size of the picture, so what had to go - Oh just lop off a couple of lines of programming and we can stretch the guide out the full width of the screen but only show 2 hours instead of the 2 1/2.

Now our on screen image is mostly wasted grey or black space. LOVELY? MODERN?

our wireless joey 4 is still on the hopper 3 guide.. the guide was another reason we switched over... hopefully they don't screw it up!!! they should let customers choose wich guide they like also!!!

I've been doing forced updates for years on my Wally. The tech who came out and installed the Hopper 3 last week did a forced update. That was the latest software, according to him.
I watched the tech do the upgrade. A notification came on the screen that data was being uploaded. The tech said, "this takes longer than everything else". It completed with Version H398.

After reading on SatGuys that everyone was getting H703, I tried several times over the past week to upgrade again. Each time, it took about 10-15 minute and each time it resulted in H398. I just assumed that maybe there were different software versions, maybe for those who use Joey's and those who don't.

After posting here and you guys responding, I realized that I did not have the proper software. I decided to give it another try this afternoon and, voila, it successfully upgraded to H703. You'd have thought that the tech would know the proper version it should have.

Anyway, all is well and thank goodness I didn't get that new abbreviated guide version. I don't need to see a thumbnail of the show, just give me the times and channels and titles.

Thanks for all who responded.

While it take some getting use to, I do like the new guide.
We got it today on the Joey'4s. There is no option to change the channel order. One set is now low to high, it was always High to low, and now these is no option in the settings to change it. Will that be fixed?

Sorry guys. They added "features" we did not ask for and removed things we liked.

Software developers do this all the time. I remember from the early times of Word Perfect they were always rearranging the menus, moving things around so you had to virtually relearn the system or at least parts of it with each "update".

Got the new guide on the Joey 4s.
One major problem, was that there were no guide options for channel order, etc. Could not find any of these in the menu. The guide had changed the sort order on at least one of the Joeys. Hitting the options button did not work yesterday.

So... this morning, now the options button does provide the options that were normally in the "Guide" function. Strange that these were not present yesterday, but seems to be fixed today. Have not seen this on the Hopper3 yet.
Still on the old guide which is better for me anyway.

This is not a bug and there is an option to change it.

When tuned to the guide hit the Options Button on the remote. Then select Channel Order and choose the option you want.
