Dish Anywhere - two different versions on two different FireTV Sticks

I have two FireTV Sticks: One is a Generation 1, the other is a newer Generation 2. The older Generation 1 has the newer version of Dish Anywhere, while the newer Generation 2 FireTV stick has the older version of Dish Anywhere. Uninstalling Dish Anywhere on the newer FireTV stick and then re-installing it still installs the older version.

The newer version of Dish Anywhere is easier to use and is more user friendly. Any idea why the newer version of Dish Anywhere does not install on my newer Generation 2 FireStick?

You're seeing this because the newer DISH Anywhere version was built out on the Android OS, and the older Fire TV sticks run off of Android. Meanwhile, the newer Fire TV devices utilize the Vega OS, and that wasn't the priority for the new DISH Anywhere builds. Vega platforms will see the update in the months ahead, not to worry.

And to add, supposedly you can't sideload apps either on the newer Vega OS models.
