Echostar 16 at 61.5W

wow with the change today i detected conus tp power has decreased from 69 i had on tp 6 to 25 with 2.4 meters antenna here at Honduras, that's very bad news for us here at central america, i miss you old echostar 12. please come back or give more power to conus tp dish network team :(

Same with all others tp, only see tp 12 increase from 12 to 16, all others tp decreased in 60% :(

Ouch!! I guess on the bright side you still have a lock on it. Time for a bigger dish.

Do you think with the new satellite will Dish still cram channels on a Tp or do they have more room now??
Hard to say, in some areas, there was more then one cities locals on one transponder on the old satellite, now in many cases each city has their own transponder. So I would think there would be an improvement in a lot of cases.

Scott Greczkowski are any of these dual arc? If so after the moves of not just these but others that are dual arc will E* maybe start switching customers out?

I live in the Mobile DMA and we are dual arc. I get my locals from 129. I don't see any reason for Dish to move me to WA (61.5).

Mobile, AL HD locals will be on the new bird on Spotbeam Transponder 18. It would not surprise me to see them start converting people to the Eastern Arc to open up space on 129 which is the Weatern Arc.

Any idea which ones are next on the list to be moved Scott? I was surprised Savannah didn't make it the first night seems how those are still Conus locals on Echo12 right now.

Looks like they have lite up transponders 18, 26, 28, 30, & 32 for some spot beam service. That's some service on 5 out of the available 15 spot beam transponders (18-32)

The big deal with E16 is the ability to reuse a spot beam transponder many more times, so long as the spot areas on the transponder are not geographically adjacent. 67 spots in the US and more foreign.

So they can reuse a transponder many times without "cramming" or decreasing signal quality.

Scott, do you know if "Binghamton" will be converted from SD (that it is now) to HD as part of this move to E16? Sure hope so....
Thanks, Gerry

Can someone tell which spot beam Traverse City is going to be on? The main stations are in the LP while there high power Repeaters are in the UP ? Marquette also is missing from the list

Traverse City will be going on Transponder 31. Marquette is not listed on my list.
