Here is the problem. On my Genie Clients the SLIP or SKIP doesn't work correctly. Watching a DVR'd show, comm. comes on, I hit the 30 sec SLIP key and it skips just fine, hit it again and sometimes it forwards to the end of the show. This is only happening on my clients and my HR34 works fine.

Call tech support and they state that this is the first time they have ever heard of this. Tech comes out and says; I've done a bunch of these calls and there is no fix.

WTF, any ideas?

It sounds like one of the many bugs in the HR34 software. Have you tried a hard reboot?

actually it sounds like a bad connection... this was happening to me with HR34/H25... the skip/slip commands are getting lost/corrupted going back to the HR34. How are the signal strengths at the client?

I can tell you that they are working on the 30 second trick play feature for the genie clients in the CE test software. It is not an isolated problem and will hopefully be better soon.

Ran a test on my clients and you're right. Diagnostic Code: 72-79-996, Network playback errors due to dropped connections.

How are you connected to the internet?
Just asking because I see post with this problem yet I use mine every day and trick play all my shows and have no problems,
I am using the hr34 for the internet connection.

Guess those codes are normal. According to tech support. Not sure what to do.

In my case (a few weeks after a sloppy original install), another tech came out and found a cable which was almost chopped in half, up in the attic, as it was run under the edge of a piece of plywood. Had a significant crease in it. He simply cut out the bad inch, added 2 connectors and a barrel to join them, and we have not had any issues since. But before that we had the very same "skip to the end" issues.

I did find that a simple FFW would work, even when the skip-ahead did not.

Rebooting the Hr34 and the client also helped.
