HDMI and Component Out at the Same Time?

I recently signed up for Dish and got the Hopper. In the past on my cable/IPTV DVR, I would record some football games for a friend of mine and then transfer them to a VHS via the composite out, while my TV was hooked up via HDMI.

I am looking to buy a DVD recorder as my VCR has decided it would only record in black and white. Can the Hopper output HDMI and component out (w/ red/white stereo audio) at the same time? Most of the games will be on ESPN or local channels (or other channels that are available in America's "Everything" Pak). I believe some channels (HBO and some of the other premiums?) require an HDCP compliant TV, and I don't mind if those are available to output via component out.

If the Hopper can not do component out and HDMI at the same time, will it do composite out (w/ red/white stereo audio) and HDMI out at the same time?

Just so you are clear on the connections, Red, White, and Yellow are the composite outs. Blue, Green and Red (along with the Red and White composites) are the component outputs. Composites to the dvd recorder or vcr and HDMI to tv will work and there are no settings you have to change as all are active all the time.

IIRC the DVD recorder that have component input are for 480p so they are really not much better than composite 480i S-video. Setting that output would affect your HDMI output too. Not a lot to be gained. They are hard to find, too.

True, I have an old Polariod dvd recorder, and I have to switch the output rez in order for the picture to be viewed correctly. It became tiresome switching it back and forth all the time and sometime I would forget. After a few weeks, I kept using the s-video or composite connection.
