Features you wish the hopper had

Maybe it's a patent violation but I'd like to have a D* type Fast Fwd where the recording backs up a variable amount, depending on the FF speed, so that reaction time for stopping FF is accounted for.
That's actually a TiVo feature, if I'm not mistaken. D* licensed it from them (TiVo) and now that Dish and TiVo have settled, Dish has access to that feature (and actually to the software code that implements it).

#1 On my list would be header/tail recording when two programs are recorded back to back on the same channel.

#2 EHD access between Hoppers.

There is an easy fix to #1 just give Hopper owners access to the HD channels in the 9000 range like we had on the VIP receivers. +1 for #2!

How about a option to change the look of the guide, the current guide is too hard for me to read the channel numbers. oh, and a way to chane the look of the info screen when you want to see what a show is about.

I'd like to big ole +1 this request. I still have 1 or 2 standard TV's that make it nearly impossible to see the guide on. I always kind of thought maybe there would be a large print or handicap option that would allow for something like this. Maybe even a choice to change the color backgrounds would help, say pure black and white on the menu's.

Another request would be if you could use the recall button to get back into the last viewed item no matter what it was. What I mean is if I'm watching a recording and flip to live TV to snag a score, weather or something. It'd be nice to press recall and pick back up into my recording where I was. I remember my old cable had that option.

How about PIP in my Joey? :)

I would like to see the option to be able to direct a recording to your EHD. When an EHD is connected, have that available as a final destination for the recording/timer.

The event can be recorded to the internal drive like it is now, but when the recording is complete, automatically perform the move to the EHD. If there is a problem with the EHD (not enough space, can't connect at that time, etc.), then leave the recording on the internal drive with an appropriate message...

If you use the Guide settings-Format guide-Multi Channel On option you can recall the last stopped recording.

PIP on Joey is my big want, I use swap and PIP a lot and it drives me crazy when watching from a Joey without it.

Fix Bugs EHD transfer

1. I would like the EHD transfer screen to allow scrolling through the entire list of recordings, instead of only the first 20%, for selection to transfer to EHD.

2. I need an expandable EHD that doesn't get full (like the Hefty Bag commercial) just because you keep adding recordings to it.
I know 2 GB isn't all that big.

3. I would like PTAT AutoHop to work on the SD channels so item 2 above would be less of a problem.

The ability to create, modify and view timers on a different Hopper. I hate having to get up and go to another room to set up or verify a recording on that Hopper.

When I'm on Hopper 1 watching a recording from Hopper 2s drive and I delete the recording, I'd like to be left in the recordings menu on Hopper 2.

I would love to see the EHD keep the icons intact. It's always a guessing game whether the tile for the movie/show will transfer. Also, make sure the full description comes along with it. It's maddening to read the Info screen and only see 75% of the description.
