No sound on Genie after power outage.

Had a power failure for 30 minutes yesterday. Reset everything, all OK except no sound on my Genie. Unplugged everything on the receiver, reset several times. Have a great picture but no sound. Any suggestions?

How is it connected for audio, through the tv or an audio receiver? Have you checked those inputs? Perhaps try a different input?

Did you do a red button Reset? Check sound with a different set of cables? (HDMI port got fried?) Etc.

Sound is thru a Yahama RX-V661. Put in a DVD in my Denon and had sound, so I know I have sound through my AV Receiver. I have component cables. I reset with my red button also.

When I have a power outage I have the same problem. I find I always need to scroll thru the function on the sound system. By the time I get back around to TV/video I get Direct sound again. FWIW.

I meant to check the inputs where you have your Directv box connected.

Finally called Directv and they are shipping me a new Genie. Thanks everybody for your help!
