TCM on Demand -- Dish is asleep again

Would agree with Chad on this one. If you do a VOD on a hopper, it streams and downloads the movie at the same time, until the movie is completely downloaded. Then the movie expires and/or is deleted.

My hard drive is half empty so that is completely irrelevant though. Most of us have 1 or 2 TB drives.

Simple. Provide all VOD options that are available from the channels that they carry in their satellite broadcast packages.

That sounds great but do know if Dish is able to or at what cost to Dish there is to carry them? I would like to have all VOD option available to me as well but I don't like how everyone just assumes that Dish is holding them back just because they want to. There may actually be a reason why they do not currently carry them. It's best to see things from both sides occasionally.

Of course there is a reason. The big question is whether it is valid or not.

It still has to be loaded into the hard drive. The broadband is to download the rest of the file.
It is a temporary file and won't (shouldn't) count against available drive space. Plus, where is it stored, in the user's partition or Dish's partition ? I don't think anyone here knows the answer.

My guess is some Dish pencil pusher in Denver could care less about TCM VOD, and can't be bothered supplying it even if it is free.

DirecTV has had TCM VOD for several years. If you try to call someone at Dish about it, you get excuses and a lot of "dunnos".

Let's not get too carried away and mix Bay and Abrams together. Bay makes bad movies that have wide appeal while Abrams makes decent (but lots of room for improvement) films that have wide appeal. VOD would be nice, but it'd be even better if Dish let us know that TCM via their website or a tablet app existed in the first place!

To be fair, the dunnos apply to just about anything if you try to call Dish.

It's in dish's partition. That part I know for a fact.

Yeah. Easy as pie.

If he was really interested , it would be real simple. But, from others posts of his I have read, he does like to complain. :sobstoryI could have told him to go to the library instead. The vast majority of the films on TCM can be gotten at the local library, and he has already paid for them with his taxes.
Or....Dish can do the right thing, so he can use the equipment already connected to his TV.

While true, there is always behind the scene drama (especially with Dish).

I haven't seen one Abrams film I would consider "decent", other than possibly MI:3.

Then again, he's only made 4 films, so far.

Let's also get rid of all the Sports Channels and then you can watch them at a Sports Bar of your choice.

Do you know how dumb you sound?

Think of it as the minority v majority. If sports disappeared, so would dish's customer base. Prices would go up higher to make up lost revenue. If not adding the TCM vods, it wouldn't even put a dent in their customer base. I agree, try to get the minority what they want, but not at the majority expense. So offering an alternative option such as the library is actually not a bad suggestion.
