Why replace CNN with MSNBC?
I don't watch either much, MSNBC I never watch.
Why not bring down something from a higher tier, like blaze?

Trust me, if you were to replace a legitimate news organization with a right wing hit blog you'd just piss off your customer.

Also, I understand that Blaze has to pay to even be on Dish Network. Is that true?

As far as all the comments about the various news outlets, let me paraphrase PT Barnum.
You can please some of the people all the time, all of the people all the time, but not all of the people all of the time.
So let al lof us, left, right and center agree that we disagree and let it go at that.

I also noticed Dish made the following changes:
132&385--MGM HD (&SD)
169 & 175-- Nick Jr.
176 & 178-- Nicktoons (Network)
200 & 209-- MSNBC HD
201 & 215--Al Jazeera America
202 & 212-- The Blaze
MGM for TCM is a much better match.

from what is being posted here cnn is just an Internet entity. Their "news" anchors are little different than msnbc.

Earlier in this thread I posted that I would not mention anything to my girlfriend or her son to see if they would notice the channels missing, as it may make the girlfriend mad since she just switched off Suddenlink due to them removing channels. They have NOT noticed any channels missing at all. Her son sure noticed the channels missing from Suddenlink though.

Well I called and complained about this and got the standard 5$ a month off for 3 months. Also dropped my 8$ a month protection plan. They also slipped and said my contract was up and I thought I had another 6 months to go. I am going to go shopping. I like Dish, but as I stated earlier, TV watchin is getting too dang expensive. I will go for the deals. I am going to start calling the other 2 providers in my area. If Dish will compete, I will stay with them. I am not blaming Dish for this mess. They are looking out for their customers. And one more thing, this thread shouldn't be about your favorite news channel, but the rising costs placed on us consumers.

What are illegal streams? I want to go see some, I think it might be fun.

illegal streams are streams on websites that don't care that they are violating the DMCA, and they risk posing content that might get removed or get their site shut down by FBI/ICE/Homeland Security. for example they may stream an NFL game without permission from the channel airing the game or NFL themselves, it consider illegal.

it's not illegal to watch the illegal stream, just illegal for the person that streams it to stream it.

From Wikipedia:
Millennials (also known as the Millennial Generation[1] or Generation Y) are the demographic cohort following Generation X. There are no precise dates when the generation starts and ends. Researchers and commentators use birth years ranging from the early 1980s to the early 2000s.

I also heard its the generation that comes into adult hood around year 2000 +.
So that would be born 1982 + since you would graduate high school and be an adult around 2000

Whelp, that's me then, born in 83'. I'm not sure if I should if I'm happy to be considered a Millennial or not. :D

I don't feel that young. Been married seven years, have a five year old boy and a second on the way, been managing a business along with being a shareholder of the corporation it belongs to and I've got a beard starting to collect gray hairs. I see others starting to retire and I'm getting jealous. Just have to work about another short 30 years.

From many sources;
CNN.com daily revenue is about $34,000
FOXnews.com daily revenue is about $10,600

That is just terrible based on the number of pageviews they get. That would result in firings at my company.

Oh you kids!! :)

I've got 4 children, 7 grandchildren and this year a brand new baby great-granddaughter.

Damn, I'm starting to feel old!! :)

Back to the OT, with all this non-screaming about the loss of these channels, I would think this could be a good time to offer Turner less or tell them to punt.

I believe this is 1 of the reasons many of these channels channels lost their luster. They're not the only game in town anymore & they refuse to adjust to change.

This is a good read for anyone interested.....https://torrentfreak.com/anti-piracy-group-admits-streaming-movies-isnt-illegal-130624/ Imo this is also another reason vpn's have become so popular as well.

I give Charlie credit, at least he sees the writing on the wall. Between the younger generation & technology, as time passes will cause the slow death of traditional tv. "Change" is inevitable, programmers should embrace it, learn how to capitalize on it or go out kicking & screaming. Many will probably go out kicking & screaming imo.
